Toolbox Talks Can Help You Meet Your Legal Requirements For Health And Safety
Health and safety are two words you will come to know intimately should you ever have your own business. This is with good reason. You want your employees, your customers, and anyone else you come into contact with to be well taken care of, so that the impression your business leaves on the world at large is a positive one that translates into exponential growth and development. But health and safety can be tricky concepts in the land of the legalese. It is important that you show the government you are doing all you can to meet their legal requirements. Keep yourself and others covered - in other words, wrap a warm blanket of protection around your business and the people that matter most to you with Toolbox Talks. Toolbox Talks give you a way to make the complicated easy to understand. It does this through the following:
Convenience: If it was up to you to research, think, and write all of your safety and health documents, then you would virtually never have time to conduct business. What the authorities expect of you is simply too great of a burden to accomplish without help. Make sure that you and your employees have all the legal documents that you need, ready and waiting in the event you should need them.
General Safety Legislation: In addition to following the law, it's always good to know the law. Your Toolbox Talks should always make this information available, not just for your employees' benefit, but for your own as well.
Legal Duties of the Employer: A fair employer will uphold his or her legal duties. It's smart business because it keeps the lines of communication open between you and your team, and it can save you a lot of trouble down the road. Your Toolbox Talks should have these responsibilities included.
General Site Health & Safety: No matter what business you are in, it is always beneficial to have general health and safety rules in place whenever you or your employees find yourselves in at-risk situations. In the even of an emergency, these procedures can also help you know where to go, what to do, and whom to contact, so that calm heads prevail.
Accident prevention and control: The best way to deal with an emergency, of course, is to not have one in the first place. You can avoid a lot of the dangers that you will encounter by educating your employees on accident prevention and control. This makes sure that proper standards are being met to avoid risk or harm. And should a misstep occur, it can keep other employees and property safe until the issue can be further (and more safely) addressed.
These are just some of the basics that should be made available in your Toolbox Talks. It's up to you to be vigilant in making sure that your business complies with the law. But many service providers are out there to help show you the way and take the guesswork out of it all. Use them to your advantage. Only then will you be able to avoid risk and achieve the rewards!

Can you eat bear meat? How do you cook it?
Me and my friend are back from a trip to Tennessee this weekend. Late last night we were driving back to the campsite from a bar when a dang ole black bear that I guess had been digging around in the dumpster ran in front of me. It knocked the crap out of the front bumper and fender of my truck then got all tangled up under the suspension and tire -- what a dang mess. We jacked up the truck but just couldnt pull the varmit out so Sonny pulled out the chainsaw I keep in the toolbox and started cutting. It seemed like a good idea but it slung blood and meat all over us and the truck. We threw the biggest pieces in the bed and chunked the guts in the ditch. We both went to the showers to clean up and an old man was there and dang near passed out when he saw us I reckon he thought we had killed somebody. We decided to leave right then and packed up and took off. I wonder what the people at the Cullman waffle house said when they found a bear head in their dumpster? Any recipes?
Cook as you would any other wild game meat. It is a little tough unless it is cooked low and slow.
Try a chili recipe or cut into steaks and grill them (well done).
