Scangauge or like for OBD1?

I want a Scangauge or like tool, but my car is a '91 and is thus equipped with OBD1, not OBD2 as the Scangauge requires.

you can buy an OBD1 scan tool, but the information available thru that system isnt as complete as what you'd expect from an OBD11.

an OTC Nemisys can scan both OBD1 & 2, but its about $600

You can ground out the plug and count the flashes for free
