2000 Cougar with self locking doors?
My boyfriend calls me a liar when I tell him that the doors on my 2000 Mercury Cougar V6 sometimes lock by themselves without me touching them. He says that it isn't possible. I haven't changed anything from the dealer. Help! I am tired of being called a liar. I am intellegent enough to know that I am not dreaming or doing this myself.
I am a manager of an auto body repair shop, and let me tell you a couple of things...vehicles with power door locks, will occassionally lock themselves , especially if you have the option that automatically locks and unlocks your doors when you shift into drive and park (very annoying option). I cannot say that your model specifically "should" do this, but I will tell you from experience...sometimes cars have a mind of their own.
