can you change a mechanical seal in a polaris four wheeler without a special tool?

i have a 2001 polaris scrambler 500 with a bad mechanical seal. (leaking threw weap hole) have a new seal and was told i need a special tool to install it, but none knows what tool or has any at the dealers. Can it be done without a special tool. looks like it just presses into the block.

It just presses in.
It's made out of very soft tin and is easy to destroy.
Tap it in slow and jingerly.
Getting the old one out, without damaging the crankcase will be the hard part.
The crankcase should be split and the seal pressed out.
