Title: Save Money on Your Electricity Bill by Installing a Garage Door Floor Seal
Because it’s in the nature of any garage to be quite messy and dirty, it leaves a welcoming message to reptiles and rodents. Garage door floor seals help prevent insects, snakes, rodents, dirt, snow, rain to enter. If you have a sloped driveway or an uneven garage floor and water is seeping under your garage door, the door seal adds a 1/2" tall barrier to the garage floor.
The garage door seal products are quite inexpensive can last as long as the life of your home. Garage door seals are energy efficient especially when you have a heated garage. But even if the garage isn’t heated, the efficiency of energy is still vital. Usually the garage is built right next to another part of your home. If the garage is not properly sealed, then the cold inside the garage will suck the warmth right out of the room next door and at the same time drive up your electricity cost. The garage door seal will also help keep the garage to stay cooler during the summer months. Proper insulation in a garage ensures the most optimal temperature inside, which makes it easier to start the car even if the temperature outside is below freezing point.

Instructions for Installation:
What’s very important to remember is to mount the garage door seal on an untreated concrete floor and make sure the floor is very dry and clean prior installation. Adhesive may not bond to painted, epoxy treated and other treated surfaces. Adhesive must be applied at temperatures above 40 Fahrenheit (5 degrees Celsius). All dirt must be completely removed from the area where you will install the door seal. For best results, it is recommended to use rubbing alcohol to clean the area prior to installation.
In order to help the door seal lay flat during the installation, re-roll the door seal in the opposite direction, starting at the center of the coil. Lay the door seal down on the concrete, with ramp area positioned towards the inside of the garage. Next close the garage door from the inside of the garage. Then, slide the door seal under the garage door towards the street until you achieve a snug fit. If the door seal needs to be shortened or cut to fit, use a hacksaw or a utility knife. Use a pencil or chalk and draw a line alongside the door seal on the concrete. Next, move the door seal to expose the garage floor, between lines.
Apply the adhesive to the floor, in three ¼” beads. Apply one bead down the center and the other two beads 1/2” in from the outer edge. Carefully position the door seal between the lines on the concrete. Firmly press the door seal into position. Excess adhesive can be wiped clean with mineral spirits or toluene. Next, close the garage door to maintain continuous pressure on the door seal for 24 hours, while the adhesive is bonding. looking for way to remove an inner race on a Harley.................?
A friend of mine and I are working on my bike, ....I'll try to make this short, I have a 2005 Road King, the clutch in the primary case was removed, now we've come across the "mainshaft bearing inner race". It's a sleeve that has to be pulled off. We've been using the service manual from Harley (99483-05) and it shows we need a specific Harley remover. The twist is I'm trying to find a way to get this race off without getting the Harley remover (#HD-34902B)(if that's possible). We've tried different pulling tools but it's really on there. We have get it off to replace a seal. Any ideas? thanks, Tom
I don't remember a reference to a puller in my manual (2006 Dyna).
As a matter of fact, I didn't have it with me when I changed my inner primary bearing.
What I did:
Carefully score the inner race in line with the shaft using a grinder. Do not go through (to protect the shaft).
Using a cold chisel and hammer, strike the race at the score line.
Since the inner race is hardened, it will crack at the score line.
This will provide enough expansion to be able to slide the race off.
Edit:
Sorry, I was called to perform my real job, and I cut it short. While I used an angle grinder, a cut-off wheel will work well. When installing the new race, pay close attention to your dimensions. I know that there's some leeway, but if you put it on too far, you wind up in the same situation. And I'll bet that just like me, you did not buy two parts to replace one.
Further edit:
vtwin_doc's answer didn't show when I typed my last.
I feel I must respond, now that I managed to complete my answer.
Don't slam me, Doc. You know I always recommend the correct way. This gent asked for an alternative, and I gave one that's proven to work. Special tools aren't always required. Especially for something as simple as a bearing race. There IS leeway in the tolerance - I have the manual. While I know that your answers are mostly top-notch, and remember that you went to school for HDs twice, you missed out on the '05s and '06s. Possibly more.
One last:
OK, Doc.
You got to see my answer before it was fully complete.
I tried to apologize for that.
Actually, it was pretty easy once I figured it out.
There are many HD tools that are "special". The thing that makes the simple ones special is merely foolproofing.
Built in stops assure repeatability, and no measuring required. Like the $300+ wheel bearing installer.
