Can you sand blast chrome to have it restored if it is pitting up?
Looking at taking on the project of Restoring a 64 Pontiac Bonneville. Taking a decent look at the car the body is in decent shape, a little rust here and there, but the chrome needs some solid work. Also wondering where a great place to get aftermarket items to restore it?
Be very careful trying to sandblast chrome parts. Usually, in order to restore pitted chrome parts requires someone who has a great deal of experience restoring these particular items. I would find a very reputable chrome shop in your area and then carefully remove the chrome parts and have this person expertly refurbish the items. As far as finding the other trim pieces and restoration items the first place I would check would be Year One which I believe is located in Atlanta. I have purchased numerous items from them and have been very satisfied with everything I have gotten. This company specializes in restoration items for classic cars like your Pontiac. Good luck on your project and most importantly don't get in a hurry.
