What is the transponder key programmer?

I need to make copies all the time because the people don't want to go to the dealer because, first they need to make an appointment, second it is too expensive and my costumers get frustrated then don't want to do the work. Bad
I just want to find a way to provide better service.

you can get the programmers from a locksmith supply company but the keys with the transponders in them are very expensive at the dealer or at a locksmith.
i have paid up to $75 per key for my 98 Taurus it is crazy but they have us by the short hairs when it comes to the keys.
