Piece Bend
Can you bend flexi-ply or another type of plywood so that it stays in that position?
Had a little moment of inspiration, but I have to ask - is it possible to easily bend a piece of plywood and keep it in a certain position without extra fittings? The bend would have to make the plywood U shaped, if it helps. Assume I've got resources to make simple jigs for the process and such.

Question is what exactly do you need to bend it for, and the reason I ask is because if it is going to be an end panel on something and thus doesn't need a large amount of strength you could kerf the back side of the plywood.
Basically what you do is make a series of saw cuts about 1/2" to 3/4" of the way through the plywood, across the entire length of the piece. Make sure you space the cuts close together, the closer together the tighter the radius can be. After making the cuts you will be able to bend the plywood. Be advised that the panel will be fragile once you are done and hard to handle if it is a large piece. A table saw is the best tool for this.
I would experiment on a scrape piece of wood first to get the idea down and also experiment with the spacing and depth of the cuts.
