Saturn dealership going bankrupt; how does this affect its car owners?

Last night, my boyfriend saw on the news that the Saturn car company is going out of business. I drive a 2007 Saturn Ion Sedan and my mom has a Saturn Vue. So how will this affect me and my mom and other Saturn car owners? I know that we can go to any place to get an oil change, but what if we need any repairs, car parts replaced; would auto shops still be able to order the specific parts??

Saturn, which is a division of General Motors, is going out of business. Saturn dealerships will be closed in the near future, but GM will be providing service and parts for all Saturns models through remaining GM dealerships. Any Chevrolet dealership will be able to take care of your Saturn.

The Saturn Ion is very similar, mechanically, to the Chevrolet Cobalt and the Saturn Vue shares most mechanicals with the Chevrolet Equinox. So the Chevrolet dealer will likely have many mechanical parts in stock at all times.

Although GM dropped the Oldsmobile brand back in 2004, they still continue to supply parts and and repairs for Olds owners. Pontiac and Saturn owners should expect the same long-term support!
