Herschel Infrared Experiment?
For the Herschel Infrared Experiment, in the materials it tell me to use alcohol thermometers. Does regular thermometers from Walmart work the same and has the same result?

All thermometers measure temperature. They differ in how much infrared they absorb, but his experiment specifies that you paint the sensing end of the thermometer black, so that this difference is eliminated. Any thermometer with a similar sized sensing tip will work.
