keep hearing get a tune up what does this involve?
keep hearing americans give answers like get your engine tuned up please explain what this involves on a modern car with eobd or obd2 is it some kind of ecu software up date. i know on older cars with carbs it was adjusting the idle screw, adjusting points advancing or retarding the timing etc please explain how this can be done on a modern car
surely this is just a service then and not a tune up
I worked for Autozone so here it goes nothing out of this world as a matter a fact very easy labor over priced, a tune up consist of first an
-oil change with filter
-spark plugs and wires
-ignition rotor and distribute cap, however some cars dont have this instead have ignition coils in that case do not need replacement.
-and just checking all your fluids can be part of the tune up
-anti freeze
-brake fluid
-window washer fluid
-oil level
-tranny fluid if auto, if slandered not necessary
-power steering
-and tranny fluid if you have a slandered
thats about it man nothing special just sound technical
