The Latest in Jackson Welding Helmets
When it comes to buying welding helmets, it is not enough to solely consider the affordability of the product. Rather, durability, high quality and an enhanced level of eye protection are essential considerations to be made in buying such a product. Among well-known brands for high quality, durability as well as design and feature are Jackson welding helmets.
With prices ranging from $30 to $300, Jackson offers helmets from those that have standard to advanced features. Among the most affordable which can be used for basic welding activities are Jackson Safety Halo X Helmet and Jackson Hellraiser Helmet. Halo X is very light as it is only 6 oz. in terms of weight and has interesting features like a hydraflex shell. It has several versions like the Blade Runner and Safety Shadow, with simple ones that cost less than $60. On the other hand, Hellraiser models have a more youthful and punk design and have the necessary standard features plus superior durability.
Some higher end Jackson welding helmets include the Jackson Shadow series and auto-dark lens that have more advanced and adjustable features. It could stand up to heat beyond 300 degrees F, and comes in sleek, narrow designs that make it easy to work with in restricted or tight areas. But if you want a helmet that has a large viewing area, try the Jackson BOSS EQC. It comes in an auto-dark model and gives you as much as 13.2 square inches – by far the biggest viewing area that an auto-dark model offers across the globe.

Help with auto darkening welding helmet?
I have a Jackson Journeyman helmet that I bought from a guy off of craigslist for $25. It seems to work ok when looking at a light or something, it will darken, but when I was welding last night, it kept failing to darken. It would work as soon as I turned it on but when I broke the arc and started another one more than 10-20 seconds after, it would stay at the lower shade. I have already tried new batteries. Is it the low light conditions that turned it off or is there something wrong with the helmet?
I have seen these before and they are very good helmets but check the following.......
1. Use only high quality batteries...
2. Check the sensitivity adjustment, some of these have them...
3. Also check if there is a filter, again some of these have them...
