What is the best way to install a harmonic balancer pulley on an engine still in the vehicle?

I am trying to install a harmonic balancer pulley on my vehicle, and I am trying to figure out the best way to do it. The engine is still in the car, getting it off will not be a problem, but I am worried about putting the new one on because I do not want to strip out the threads when I reinstall it.

Tap it on with a deadblow hammer or other soft mallet until you can get the bolt in 3/8"to 1/2 "of thread. and then tighen it with an impact wrench until it draws in. Then loosen the bolt and torque it.
