Car engine heating up- fan damaged?
My Maruti 800 has been doing well. Suddenly, one day I discovered some smoke and found the coolant inside the reservoir boiling and spilling out. I poured two bottles of water in the coolant reservoir and cooled the radiator.Later, I discovered that the radiator fan is not moving as it is rubbing itself with the radiator. I found the fan blade loose from its position and moving back and forth touching the radiator grills. A day before one mechanic has changed the clutch wire and in the process might have damaged the fan's alignment with his tools. My question are: Was I right in pouring water in the coolant reservoir ? How to replace water with the coolant ? Is there a major damage in the fan base where the blades are tightened, as its alighment has disturbed ? Do I need a specialist like Maruti authorised service centre to repair this damage ? When I take it for repairs what the mechanic is supposed to do to restore normalcy ?
Yes sounds like the fan and raditor needs to be fixed. Take it M.A.S.S or any third party mechanic. Water and coolant should 50% each
