Acetylene Welding
Are MIG and TIG welding, forms of arc welding? Also what is the difference between electric and oxy acetylene?
Basically I want to know what sub heading mig and tig welding fall under. Someone recomended that I use arc welding instead of mig/tig but I was under the impression that mig or tig are both forms of arc welding?
mig and tig are arc welding, but traditional arc welding is done with a welding rod, which has flux on the rod. Mig uses a gas and a spool of wire, tig uses a tungsten rod and is done more like oxy-acetylene. Oxy acetyleneis strictly gas welding, which is basicly melting the metals together
