How to Clear a Clogged Sink Drain
Accumulated debris such as hair, food, soap residues and grease on the drain could cause a sink to clog. Aside from it causing a headache, it may even cause more problems if not taken cared of right away. Cleaning a clogged sink drain is actually not that difficult to do. As a matter of fact, there are a lot of ways to unclog a sink drain. Here are some tips on how to do that.
Tip # 1. Use baking soda and vinegar.
Put some baking soda on your sink (about a tablespoon will do) and then pour in about one-fourth cup of vinegar into the sink drain. Let it stand for about 20 to 30 minutes to let the chemicals react together. After that, pour in some hot water into the sink drain to remove build-ups and any foul odors. The hot water would help a lot in eliminating the grease and other build-up sticking on the drain.
Tip # 2. Use a commercial chemical cleaner.
You could also buy a commercial chemical sink drain cleaner to fix a clogged sink. You have to be careful though when using such cleaners because it contains chemicals that could be dangerous if not used properly. In addition, you also have to avoid using strong chemical cleaners when you have plastic drain pipes as it could damage the pipes.
Tip # 3. Seek the help of a plumber.
If the problem can't be fixed by any of the tips above, you might want to consider seeking the help of a plumber. A plumber could troubleshoot the root of the problem and fix it. You could visit the Top Tradespeople website to search for professional plumbers who would be much more than willing to do the job for you.
Preventing a clogged sink drain is much easier than trying to fix a clogged one. Try to avoid dumping debris on the drain to avoid clogging your sink. As a final tip, try to pour in some hot water into your sink drain at least once a week. This would help prevent build-up which causes clogged sinks.

Why does my jet boat keep stalling?
when I run my boat full throttle it stalls after 30 seconds. it runs fine at 80% throttle or less but when I go full speed it stalls. I'm able to turn it back on after about a minute. I already changed my fuel water separator filter which made it run a little better. what could be wrong?
It looks like a replacement engine. Can you describe the outdrive or post a photo of it?

How do I remove a dry water mark from an lcd screen?
I was using a 'screen target' and it's left what looks like a dried up water mark on my screen - any idea how to remove it? My monitor is a 26" Samsung T260, and it's a matte finish, not glossy.
I've tried wiping it with a cloth but that hasn't worked. If I go out and get some screen wipes, will they help? Or do I just need to leave it to dry out?
Thanks
From your description it sounds like the mark is behind your LCD's protective cover therefore you can't clean it off.
Have it looked at by repair facility or a Geeky friend.

Buying a Home with a Septic System
When you're looking to buy a new home one important aspect that many prospective buyers may overlook is if their home of choice is on city sewage or has its own septic system. Because a septic system is unfamiliar for many people they may not know what they need to look for when buying a home with that type of waste water treatment.
Septic systems take all the waste water from your home, including grey water (wash water) and sewage and treat it by settling out the solids, exposing it to bacteria, and filtering the water through a septic field of sorts.
All septic systems start with a septic tank made from a fairly inert material like concrete or fibreglass. This two part tank is where all the waste water from your home flows into. The septic tank has a divider with a hole about two thirds of the way up to allow fluids to flow through while blocking most of the solid matter and collecting grease at the top; this allows the water to flow out of the end of the tank with less impediment.
The top of the septic tank has two access hatches, one of each side of the tank for cleaning and pumping purposes. A septic tank needs to be pumped out every three to five years or when the tank is about a third full of solid waste. An overfull tank can cause the whole system to not function properly.
The next step in the septic system is the leaching bed; the waste water that comes out of the septic tank flows into a series of perforated pipes that are laid in gravel trenches. As the water seeps out of the pipes and through the gravel and soil, microbes clean the moisture of harmful components like bacteria before draining the water back into the ground water.
If the soil type isn't conducive for a proper leaching field there are ways to modify your field so that it can still properly clean the waste water coming out of your system. Alternatives to the conventional system can include using some type of trickling filter which will provide the waste water some additional filtering before releasing it to the ground.
Before buying a home with a septic system like these, you will need to have the system inspected to ensure that it's functioning properly and that's it's been maintained. Information that you will need to get from the homeowners includes records of septic tank pumping, cleaning, and repair; the homeowners should also tell you if there are any drainage issues with the system. If the home is also on a well, make sure that there are no contamination problems between the septic system and the well. An inspector will check for signs of problems with the system that could potentially cost you thousands of dollars to repair that you may not be expecting.
Don't be afraid to buy a home that is on a septic system instead of city sewage, as long as you maintain it properly it can provide you with twenty-five years or more of waste water treatment.

Home remedy for a tank thats too base?
My fish tank is too base.Any home remedies out there?
Generally I recommend buying fish to suit your water. Live bears like platy, molly, guppy, and swords love it. Gouramis thrive in it. Check your pH, and kH (hardnes) then look at http://liveaquaria.com for fish that suit your water.
The easiest way to make your water less basic is to mix in distilled water. Keep in mind pure distilled water is really bad for fish. (Note basic water is generally hard, and hard water doesn't easily change pH.) Also keep in mind that fast change in a good direction is very bad. Go slowly.

Deep Watering Method for Home Gardens
There are a number of watering methods that have proven to be effective in the home garden. In this article, we will focus on one that emphasizes conservation and yet will promote lush and vigorous growth, no matter what varieties of plants you grow.
Promote Healthy Growth
The Deep Watering method has proven to save water and encourage plants to develop strong, active root systems.
It's basically very simple – you irrigate less often, say once every 1 to 2 weeks, although each time you irrigate more deeply.
For example, you have flowers or vegetables that have been in the ground for at least a month. When the plants have started to put out new "top" growth (new leaves or buds), you know they've acclimated to their environment.
Tip: Seedlings and fresh plantings (less than a month old), will always need more water until their root systems have started to expand and become established. Wait to start a deep watering program until your plantings start to show new growth. Even then you'll want to slowly introduce them to this system.
Tip: Plants in hot, sun-drenched areas of your garden, will generally need to be watered more often, but you can off-set this by choosing plants that are "drought tolerant." Cooler, shady areas will need much less water.
Take a few minutes to till or loosen the top one-inch of soil in the plant bed. Be careful around newer plantings, as some of the roots will be nearer the surface and will be fragile.
Deep watering will encourage the roots to go deep, looking for food and water, which is exactly what we want them to do. Loosening the top one inch of the soil will allow the water to penetrate and not run off.
There's no need to be too fussy about tilling at this point, all the "hard" work was done when you prepared the bed for planting and will carry you through the entire growing season.
Tip: A good water nozzle is one that breaks the water flow into multiple, gentle streams.
Tip: Adding a good mulch on top of your garden bed, about 1 to 2 inches thick, is a good idea when starting a deep watering program. A mulch will help in retaining moisture and will protect roots from temperature extremes. Also, as an added benefit, will help keep weeds down to a minimum.
Start watering at a point in your yard that you can work your way back to. Slowly work your way around your garden, making sure to thoroughly water each individual plant, and any open or unplanted area around them.
In a typical 10' x 3' bed, you may spend 5 minutes watering, then slowly work your way around the rest of your garden.
Now you're done for about a week, depending upon the weather. As you condition your plants to a deep watering system you will slowly stretch the length of time between waterings.
Your goal is to drive the water deep into the ground, and thoroughly saturate the soil to about 12 to 14 inches in depth. This will create a reservoir of moisture below the roots.
As the upper part of the bed dries out the roots will naturally seek the water that's stored below them. This encourages a deeper root system which is healthier, and that is better able to tolerate low water conditions.
When you first start a deep watering program, you'll want to keep an eye on younger plants, and plants in hot areas of the garden.
If you notice plants starting to wilt, water them deeply again. Over time you will find that watering twice, or even once a month will be all an established plant needs, depending upon specific species or variety of plant.
Tip: Low-growing annuals like pansies will have naturally shallow root systems and although a deep watering program will encourage deeper roots, any plant with a shallow root system will naturally require more regular waterings.
You can off set this tendency by planting annuals in cooler areas of your garden or using taller plants to shade surrounding areas. In essence you're creating a small micro-climate to protect more sensitive plantings. Additionally, annuals generally need about 1 inch of water per week.
As with most gardening activities, you may need to adjust this process to suit your particular growing conditions.
Deep Watering has proven over time to save water, reduce maintenance, and still promote lush and vigorous growth throughout your garden or landscape.

What should be the water jets exit velocity necessary to reach a horizontal distance of 20 m from the nozzle?
The nozzle's angle with respect to the horizontal is 38 degrees.
please help I'm confused
Horizontally
Speed = distance/time
u cos 38 = 20/t
t = 20/ u cos 38
Vertically
using v = u + at
0 = u sin 38 + at/2 [vertical velocity zero half way]
0 = u sin 38 - 9.81 (20/ u cos 38) /2
0 = u^2 sin 38 - 9.81 (10/ cos 38)
0 = 0.6157 u^2 - 124.49
u = root (124.49 / 0.6157)
u = 202.19 ms^-1
seems too fast sorry i tried.

ingersoll rand air hammer help?
I need help with picking my air hammer. I cant afford and Ir 132, so Im stuck with the 117 or 121. The 117 seems to be bigger, so more power? then why is it only standard duty? the 121 is smaller and considered super duty, can someone explain the differences to me? I know the bpm difference. I want to use the for general front end work on cars, and like I said, can't afford the the big one. Please let me know which way to go. Also, don't even mention CP.
I said air hammer, not impact gun. I had an earth quake, that lasted 6 months at my home garage, I would hate to have to buy that gun monthly for work...
Any air hammer will do what most general front end work for someone who works on their own cars. But if you work on a car in a repair shop then you need to look at durability. IR is a good company and I have had good experiences with them. One thing I have found is that bigger is not always better. Just because a gun has a larger bpm rating doesn't mean it will perform better, it just mean that the "hammer" is being hit faster. Figure out which one you can best afford and buy it. Air hammers are not used as often as air guns in daily repairs and thus I see no need to spend more than you need to do.
Basically, the super duty is built to a bit higher standard to sustain reliabilty during day to day usage--such as in a strictly front end repair shop or in truck and/or heavy equipment repair. The standard duty is usually made for the mechanic that uses it once a week or so for work on cars and piuckup trucks.

Money Saving Tips for Next Oil Change!
Save at least $30 by changing your oil yourself every time. When it comes time to change the oil of your Ford Tempo, doing it yourself could save you up to $30 or more. How do you know when to change your oil?
Change your oil every 3000 miles or about every 3 months, whichever comes first. SAE 5W-30 motor oil is the preferred motor oil to use for all weathering conditions, but if you are like me and live in moderate to hot temperatures then SAE 10W-30 motor oil is also acceptable.
Never change your engine oil while the engine is hot. This should be common sense. If your engine is hot, wait 2 hours. You could suffer terrible burns from your car's engine or oil drainage. We don't want any hospital bills over here.
Locate your car's oil pan drain plug. Place an oil pan underneath the plug so you don't spill any oil on the ground. Unscrew the drain plug and let the oil drain out for about 20 minutes to ensure all oil has poured out. Screw the plug back in. If you start pouring oil in without the plug tightly fastened then you are in for a greasy mess.
Locate the oil filter, unscrew it, and take it off. The oil filter is the piece that is shaped like half a cylinder. Be careful because oil will want to leak out of it after you unscrew it so keep it upside down. Then screw the new oil filter in.
Pour the correct amount of oil in for your vehicle. For a 2.3L engine, the oil amount should be 5 quarts. If you have a 2.3L engine, make sure the oil filter says FL-300. For 3.0L Tempo engines, you will want to put only 4.5 quarts of oil in, and make sure the oil filter says FL-400A.
If your car has a lot of miles on it (lets say +80,000), it might be a good idea to use oil that is specifically designed for cars with high mileage. I use Valvoline High Mileage and it seems to work pretty good for my 1993 Tempo (+120,000 mi).
A quick auto maintenance tip to keep in mind is to periodically check the ground underneath your parked vehicle. Look for any liquids that look like they are new. If it looks like fresh liquid, there could be a chance that it is coming from your car. Be sure to keep an eye the next time your car is parked for a while to confirm any suspicious liquid.
Just for reference, reddish liquid will be power steering fluid, brownish liquid will probably be oil, and if it is a bluish liquid it is most likely radiator coolant.
Check your oil level every couple of weeks. Make sure your oil level is within the regulated guidelines located at the bottom of your oil dip stick. Your dip stick is the stick with a round, usually colored ring at the top. All you do is pull it out, wipe off excess oil with a rag, stick it back in, pull it out again, hold it level, and decipher where the oil line stops.
Don't be an idiot. Always properly dispose of any used oil. Local auto parts stores and service stations usually have a receptacle in the back of their store where you can recycle any used oil. Start recycling now before we jack Earth up anymore and there is nothing left to protect.

I want to know if it's a good idea to attach an air pump to a venturi valve, to increase the amount of air it outputs.
