Being made of copper they don't rust, they get a layer of corrosion on them but no rust.

Restaurant with hot oil/water where you cook your own food?
So I know there are places that just heat up oil or water for you and you cook your own food (chicken,beef,etc) does anyone know where some are located? I live in california around torrance, long beach, carson, san pedro, if you know of any in these areas or any where around these areas that would help! thanks!
Shabu shabu! There is a restaurant in West Hollywood right next to Grauman's in that shopping center (with the Rennaisance Hotel) that is called Shabu Shabu and they do this - I've eaten there. What a fun environment! I googled it and it looks like there are a number of restaurants like this in the area. Good luck!

How Do I repair a Bluemel bicycle air pump?
The air pump does pump air, but will not maintain pressure because air leaks out of the other end of the piston where the flexible hose was stored.

I'm not 100% sure I'm understand the problem from your question; but, if it's the piston you can usually fit the problem my putting some grease on the seal in the piston. If it's the hose, you can cut a little off the hose and reattach it.

How do water bore holes work . ( specifics needed see details box)?
At the bottom of the drilled bore hole, a pump draws up the water . Does the pump sit in or above a trapped underground
pool of water or does it sit in the line of an underground flowing spring. The most important point is to build a picture of what is happening at the underground water level.Thanks
Another way of getting the water up might be a piston-less pump. (These keep much of the equipment on the surface, potentially making maintenance easier)
Attach a one way valve to a pipe, so that it allows liquid into the pipe, but not out. Place this pipe into the bore hole. Assemble a thinner pipe with a one way valve arranged the same way, and place that inside the larger pipe.
Use some kind of coupling to allow air to enter/leave the outer pipe, but allow the inner pipe to poke out the top.
If the one-way valves are below the liquid level in the well, then water will enter the pipes. If compressed air is introduced into the outer pipe, it will push the water though the one way valve, into the inner pipe, and when enough has entered the inner pipe, up to the surface. Simply alternate pressuring/depressurising with air to "pump".
It works in a similar way to squirting water with drinks cartons. You carefully pierce the cover with a straw, and blow down it. When you remove the straw from your mouth the pressure difference blows the drink up the straw.

Hydraulic Motor and Its Types
Hydraulic motor is a motor that converts the kinetic or potential energy of a fluid into mechanical energy. It is a mechanical actuator that converts hydraulic pressure and flow into torque and angular displacement.
It can rotate in reverse direction and act as a pump when powered by a mechanical source. Although a hydraulic motor can be interchangeable with a hydraulic pump sometimes, most often, hydraulic pumps cannot be used as hydraulic motors because they cannot be backdriven. The hydraulic drive system can be formed by hydraulic pumps, motors, and cylinders.
There are many hydraulic motor types which are the most important operating specification to consider when searching for hydraulic motors. The first one is the gear and vane motors. They can be used in simple rotating systems. A vane motor consists of a housing with an eccentric bore, in which runs a rotor with vanes in it that slide in and out. It uses a vane to generate mechanical energy. Pressurized fluid strikes the blades in the vane, causing it to rotate and produce output torque. While a gear motor consists of two gears, i.e. the driven gear and the idler gear. The second type is the axial piston motor which is generally used for high quality rotating drive systems. It uses an axially-mounted piston to generate mechanical energy. High pressure flow into the motor forces the piston to move in the chamber, generating output torque. The third one is the radial piston motors which are available in Crankshaft type and the Multilobe cam ring type. This motor uses pistons mounted radially about a central axis to generate energy.
Addition to the above mentioned elements, there are still many aspects to consider when searching for hydraulic motors. It includes the operating torque, operating pressure, operating temperature, operating speed, and the maximum fluid viscosity, etc. As to the operating torque, it depends directly on the pressure of the working fluid delivered to the motor. And the operating pressure is the pressure of the working fluid that is pressurized by an outside source delivered to the hydraulic motor. The operating temperature is the fluid temperature range the motor can accommodate. The operating speed is the speed at which the hydraulic motors' moving parts rotate.
Undoubtedly, hydraulic motors can be widely used in many applications such as winches and crane drives, roll mills, self-driven cranes, and excavators and so on. Therefore, it is rather necessary to take all the above mentioned aspects into consideration when you choose the hydraulic motors.

How does an auto transmission's hydraulic pump work?
I am converting an SUV to electric motor powered. When the transmission needs to shift I can cut the power to the motor, "disengaging" it from the transmission. Additionally, the motor doesn't idle, so I have no way to keep hydraulic pressure in the transmission at a standstill. I want to remove the torque converter and power the hydraulic pump externally. Is this possible, or can I use an external pump?
The way an automobile engine with a automatic transmission works is essentially a hydrostatic hydraulic system. If you have for example, a 200 hp engine the engines output is connected to the automatic's transmission hydraulic pump. So that pump is actually consuming all the energy of that engine and the hydraulic flow is directed to the torque converter and gears to give motive power.
You could bypass the transmissions built in hydraulic pump, but it is difficult and a waste of a good pump. A better solution might be to keep the excellent efficient pump that is built into the transmission and come up with a diverter of the hydraulic flow so that when you don't need the flow it just loops around in a flow circuit.
This is similar to a power steering pump which doesn't consume power when it is on, but the moment you turn the wheel a hydraulic valve is opened and the hydraulic fluid is allowed to flow into a cylinder and turn the car wheels in the direction you point to
So if you can get a diagram of your SUV's automatic transmissions hydraulic circuitry, you can buy a hydraulic valve in between the hydraulic pump and the torque convertor. So when you don't want the transmission to add to the drag, just divert the flow away from the converter and loop it back to the pump.

Accidentally put oil in the air filter in a pressure washer's engine?
Yesterday while trying to set up a pressure washer, I accidentally put the motor oil into the air filter spot. Turned it upside down to drain the oil but the engine starts and stalls. Not sure if it's ruined forever or what to do. It's a Robin engine and a Karcher pressure washer.
It is unclear to me how you would put oil into the air filter but you should never turn an engine upside down. The first thing to do is check the oil level in the crankcase. It should not be above the full mark. Remove the air filter, if it has oil on it replace it. Clean all the oil from the air box (where the filter goes) and install the new filter. Remove the spark plug and give it a few pulls. Replace the plug and start it up, it may smoke a bit but should clear out.

How do you wash sand for a tropical fish tank?
its brand new sand that i bought at the pet shop for my new tank do i still need to clean it and if so how do you clean it?
1.Get a large, food quality bucket.
2.Put sand in, filling about 1/2 way.
3.Fill with water.
4.Stir.
5.Drain water.
6.Repeat steps 3-5 until the water is clear and none of the sand is floating.
This is easiest done outside if you live in an area that's warm enough. If you have to do it inside, be sure you don't get any of the sand down your drain.
Good luck.
Oh, and make sure your filter is not running when you put the sand in your aquarium, and that it remains off until all of the sand has settled, or you'll kill it.

I cant twist showerhead off with vice grips?
I cant seem to take the small metal piece that fits on the valve for the showerhead. Its the piece that is round at the end, so you can rotate the showerhead.
It doesnt twice off easiler like most other showerheads do, and Ive tired everything. Ive used a wrench, adjustable wrench, using heat with a propane torch on the outside, as well as a vice grip wrench.
All with nothing. Any ideas?
Ive used anohter wrench to hold the bar make sure that I dont twist the bar coming from the wall.too much.
You must use a backup wrench which you put on the pipe coming out of the wall. Apply pressure on it in a clockwise rotation as you use a pipe wrench on the shower head which you will turn in an anti clockwise direction. Vise grips often will not do the job you need to get a pipe wrench with a longer handle to get more leverage. This "will" work if you do it this way. You need the backup wrench to allow you to use lots of pressure without turning the pipe in the wall, you only want the shower head to turn not the pipe. Good shooting!

I have an idea to make solar oil heater how can I get financial help for RND?
I have an idea to make solar oil heater which may be useful for cooking,boiler purpose & heating furnace. But I have not enough money for RND so what I have to do ?
If it does not involve very huge financial help any bank can help but ONLY against some security.
You can also approach Govt. Agencies who are involved in Alternative source of energy. It will involve lots of correspondence and consume lot of time.
The biggest problem in this case is that you want money for RND for a purpose result of which is unknown.
Please also try selling your idea to NGOs. With internet and addresses of most of the agencies readily available the correspondence with such agencies is just a click away

How to clean a comforter without a washer?
I know that sounds weird, but I have a gigantic denim comforter that I need cleaned. My washer is too small, the local laundromat is closed for renovation, and we don't have a dry cleaner in town. However, it does fit into the dryer... so is there an alternative to cleaning it in the washer?
Does it really need washing? If it just has some marks, maybe careful spot cleaning will do. I did wash a big comforter in the bath and then couldn't lift it by myself. Wringing it out was incredibly hard and took two people twisting it and even then it was still soaking wet - much too wet to put in a dryer. It took about a week to dry and was not worth the trouble. If I were you I would wait for a very sunny day and hang it out over a couple of lines on the washing line and then look for any marks and clean them whilst it is hanging up. Leave it out on the line for a good airing in the sun and turn it over after a few hours to let both sides get some sun as well.
