I brought a Actron code scanner today because my car check engine light came on and I got a code that said 26?
The code 26 in the Actron code book said quad driver module or quad-driver No.1 error.
But in the the Haynes repair manual is says code 26 ECM FAILER which one should I use Im lost. I have a 1990 buick riviera
check your scan tool and make sure it will work on your car. if it does, go by the book that came with the tool.

What is a tiny brass sleeve that's threaded inside called?
I want to duplicate my pistol's grip but need to know where I can buy this and what it's called. It's a brass sleeve embedded in one half of the grip that accepts a machine screw from the other half of the grip, locking them together.
it does appear to be a female sexy bolt (lol!) maybe just one with the head ground off. I can't find a "threaded sleeve" that seems to apply but maybe some type of "threaded sleeve insert"
I know what your talking about, although Ive never seen a brass one. They are generally made of hardened steel or out of stainless depending on application. Midwayusa.com should have the parts you are looking for no problem. Just type in grip screws and it will pop up with what you are looking for. Good company to deal with.

I have a 07 Jeep Laredo and the driver side tail and running lights have stopped working but blinker and brake still work. Have replaced the bulbs, fuses and socket, any ideas to what else it might be?
Check for any wiring damage where a trailer hitch may have been. People can really hack up the wiring when installing a trailer connector.

How much security does the President of the United States really need in order to be safe 24 hours a day?
I have seen President's with so much security around them and yet I see where they can use improvement big time. Seeing loop holes in the security of the President makes me feel insecure. How much security does he need? Do you think it's man power or the areas they cover to make sure the President is safe at all times? What's more important in your opinion?
With all the nuts running loose in the US, I would say a lots of security is needed.

The downside of crucial is ordering it from other than USA.... although CDW as a vendor is able to provide the memory fairly quickly

2006 G6. The remotes won't lock/unlock doors or do remote start & the OBD port will not register on scanner?
The remotes will pop the trunk and sound the panic, but will not enable the remote start or lock/unlock doors. My mechanic says his OBD scan tool will not communicate with the car either.
Your mechanic doesn't have a GM CAN capable scanner. It takes a Tech II with a CANDI module. Joe Mechanic ain't gonna shell out the $$$ for a vehicle specific tool.

Behind The Many Lines Of A Bar Code
By definition, a “bar code” is optical data which can be read by the scanning device of bar code equipment, which is then interpreted by software. Earlier bar codes used to come in the form of parallel black lines called linear or one-dimensional bar codes. Today, however, bar coding equipment can read all sorts of patterns, such as squares, dots, hexagons or other geometric patterns called two-dimensional matrix codes; and though these symbols are not bars, they are still referred to as bar codes.
The first bar code equipment was used in supermarket and retail stores to automate their checkout and point of sales systems. Bar code equipment has, since, been used in many other industries and for many other applications the world over. In fact, various types of bar codes and bar coding equipment are now available in the global market.
There are many components to bar code equipment; such as optical scanners or bar code readers, which (as the name implies) reads the bar codes scanned from an image utilizing special software, which is actually the same software used in Smartphone platforms. The other components of bar code equipment are the bar code printers, screen displays and central processing units (CPUs), which are compact, mobile and flexible to fit any type of space.
Possibly, the most recognizable component of bar coding equipment is the bar code scanner; which you can identify by the red laser lights that appear when a bar code is being scanned. As the main component of bar code equipment, bar code scanners utilize special decoding technology which can interpret bar codes up to 4.7 inches in length at a distance of up to 4.7 inches.
Bar code scanners contain no moving parts and may be used as hand-held devices or as fixed bar code equipment. The hand-held scanner is exceptionally lightweight and ergonomically designed to fit comfortably in your hand even for long periods of time. This bar coding equipment component can even scan low-quality or damaged bar codes with outstanding speed and accuracy.
