How can I get rid of straight tips after a haircut?
okay so i have bone straigh hair & yesterday I cut an inch off my hair because it was getting too long, now I have these straight tips, they look like the ends of a blush brush..& I really hate those, I'm gonna go to the salon to get my hair layered & try to fix this problem.
What should I tell the hair dresser to do?

If you're going to get your hair layered, ask that they point cut at the ends as well to soften the look or ask for a razor cut. Both methods tend to give a softer edge to the hair

Would a cooling system pressure test detect a head gasket issue?
i have a 1998 subaru that i bought new and have been driving since purchase. recently i had an issue where the car overheated - i added coolant, and brought it in for a pressure test. aside from needing a new radiator cap, they found nothing.
the other day i noticed a white smoke coming from under the hood - it smelled like antifreeze, unquestionably. it wasn't a heavy smoke, but was certainly burning coolant. there was no obvious leak under the hood.
the car drives fine, but i constantly smell burning antifreeze.
this leads me to believe that i have a more serious issue, either a cracked cylinder, cracked case, blown head gasket, etc. my question is, would the pressure test have found such an issue?
second question is what does it cost to replace a head gasket? my gut feel is that this spells the end of my subaru.

How to stop guitar string buzzing in the nut.?
I have a guitar that was handmade. I don't know what kind of nut or strings came on it. It was $900. I changed the strings to Ernie Ball Regular Slinkies. The buzz comes from the nut when the E a or d strings are played open.
When you play a bar chord on the first fret , is the sound clean ? If yes, then the problem is the fingerboard nut. It would need to have a shim placed underneath it to solve the problem.
Or, replace the nut completely. The grooves are probably too deep. For the price you paid, THAT should have never happened and the nut should be real bone and not PLASTIC.
What you do is loosen the strings, and remove them rom the nut. Use a file or a ruler, and lightly tap with a knife handle or hammer.
Place a piece of vinly (1/16" think max) underneath the nut. Put the nut on the vinyl but don't glue it yet.
Tighten the string and tune to pitch. If the sound is good. Loosen the string and use carpenters glue to glue the vinyl piece to the nut . Apply glue at the end of the fingerboard and push the nut against it. The strings will hold it in place.

Check your oil. It may be low, or you might need an oil change. If the oil is thick and black, you'll need an oil change. DO IT SOON!!!! that light may have saved your car, because an oil change costs a lot less than a new engine, or a new car.

Where Can I Buy Parts For A Kobalt Tool Chest?
I have a tool chest and base chest from Kobalt that needs some repair and a replacement drawer and various other parts. Its a nice Set so i dont want to get rid of it I want to repair them. Call Lowe's, they are the exclusive dealer for kobalt tools. Lowe's will back up that brand at all cost..... and I do mean all cost. Even replacing it if you can't get it repaired. Most of the drawers have been spot welded and cannot be repaired. I say, Take it back!!

What is the standard size for a sheet of plywood in countries using the metric system?
In the US, plywood comes in 4 feet wide by 8 feet wide sheets. This is a standard size that fits well with standard sizes used throughout building construction. In a metric country, where measurements are more commonly expressed in meters or centimeters, what is the standard size for a sheet of plywood? How does this carry through to such things as ceiling height, door frame sizes, or the spacing of studs within a wall?

There are many applications for plywood and different types for the different applications. By the way, in metric system of building, most measurements are in mm.
In Australia, timber stud walls are usually made of 90x35 or 90x45mm sizes. You can also get 70x35 & 70x45mm thicknesses too but aren't used usually for structural purposes. Studs are usually spaced at 450mm centres for structural walls, and 600mm for some structural and also non-structural walls.
Ceiling heights standards are 2400mm, 2550mm and 3000mm high.

Would a AMD Athlon X2 7750 Black Edition work on an AM2 socket?
I have a Asus MSI-SLI motherboard that only has an AM2 socket. Would this work seeing as how this has an AM2+? Also if i works, would it work well?
It's slightly confusing when you look into it, but AM2+ is the step between AM2 & AM3, and whilst AM2+ CPU's certainly will work on AM2 boards... unless the mobo is fully AM2+, there may be a couple of limitations (some boards say they are AM2+ compatible, without explaining that there could be some loss in performance). Worth noting however that for future-proofing AM2+ CPU's will not run on an AM3 board...
As far as the AM2+ to AM2 issues go, normal AM2 spec says HyperTransport 2.0 at 1GHz, whereas your 7750 Black edition states HyperTransport 3.0 at 3.6GHz full duplex (1.8GHz x2). The AM2 board cannot take advantage of this higher spec, similarly an AM2+ board with the HT3.0 will be limited when running an AM2 CPU. The AM2+ also offers a separate power plane for the second core which AM2 does not offer.
One final confusing piece of data...
An AM3 processor will work on an AM2+ board.
So if you want to be up to the minute - look for an AM3 bundle, otherwise the 7750 will work, but may not reach it's full potential on an AM2 motherboard - possibly not worth paying the extra for a black edition??
