How Do I repair a Bluemel bicycle air pump?
The air pump does pump air, but will not maintain pressure because air leaks out of the other end of the piston where the flexible hose was stored.
Thanks in advance for your help.
I'm not 100% sure I'm understand the problem from your question; but, if it's the piston you can usually fit the problem my putting some grease on the seal in the piston. If it's the hose, you can cut a little off the hose and reattach it.

What parts of the transmission must be undone to replace pump assembly and valve body?
I took my car to one mechanic who says he replaced the pump assempbly and valve body on my Camry's transmission. However, the Toyota dealer says that it does not appear the transmission has been out of the car or that the transmission pan has been removed. Did I get hosed by the first guy? Would a second mechanic be able to tell, by looking, that the transmission and/or transmission pan had not been removed within the last month?
He should be able to. If he has done work on quite a few Camry's, he'll probably notice if any wires, hoses or lines have been re-routed from the original spots, since, even though we try, most of us mechanics will not put them all back...our rebellion against the engineers. He'll also be able to tell if the transmission is at least clean on top...'cause the original guy should have done a good job of cleaning it, to make sure it isn't leaking once it is running. I have a feeling you got shafted.

how do i find information on auto parts, ie fuel pump; lowered van for wheelchair?
1999, Chrysler Town and Country. Where is fuel pump and what does it look like?
I have worked on a couple of these vans, and the fuel pump has always been mounted in the top of the fuel tank (ie, the tank must be removed to access the pump). The tanks have always been made by an aftermarket manufacturer to fit the lowered floorboard. I'm sure they also have their own fuel pump also, as it is not a factory unit, although, it looks like most any other EFI pump. As far as info on parts, you would have to find who made the conversion parts for the vehicle, and contact them regarding parts availability and prices. HTH, Good Luck

Hydraulic Motor and Its Types
Hydraulic motor is a motor that converts the kinetic or potential energy of a fluid into mechanical energy. It is a mechanical actuator that converts hydraulic pressure and flow into torque and angular displacement.
It can rotate in reverse direction and act as a pump when powered by a mechanical source. Although a hydraulic motor can be interchangeable with a hydraulic pump sometimes, most often, hydraulic pumps cannot be used as hydraulic motors because they cannot be backdriven. The hydraulic drive system can be formed by hydraulic pumps, motors, and cylinders.
There are many hydraulic motor types which are the most important operating specification to consider when searching for hydraulic motors. The first one is the gear and vane motors. They can be used in simple rotating systems. A vane motor consists of a housing with an eccentric bore, in which runs a rotor with vanes in it that slide in and out. It uses a vane to generate mechanical energy. Pressurized fluid strikes the blades in the vane, causing it to rotate and produce output torque. While a gear motor consists of two gears, i.e. the driven gear and the idler gear. The second type is the axial piston motor which is generally used for high quality rotating drive systems. It uses an axially-mounted piston to generate mechanical energy. High pressure flow into the motor forces the piston to move in the chamber, generating output torque. The third one is the radial piston motors which are available in Crankshaft type and the Multilobe cam ring type. This motor uses pistons mounted radially about a central axis to generate energy.
Addition to the above mentioned elements, there are still many aspects to consider when searching for hydraulic motors. It includes the operating torque, operating pressure, operating temperature, operating speed, and the maximum fluid viscosity, etc. As to the operating torque, it depends directly on the pressure of the working fluid delivered to the motor. And the operating pressure is the pressure of the working fluid that is pressurized by an outside source delivered to the hydraulic motor. The operating temperature is the fluid temperature range the motor can accommodate. The operating speed is the speed at which the hydraulic motors' moving parts rotate.
Undoubtedly, hydraulic motors can be widely used in many applications such as winches and crane drives, roll mills, self-driven cranes, and excavators and so on. Therefore, it is rather necessary to take all the above mentioned aspects into consideration when you choose the hydraulic motors.

How does an auto transmission's hydraulic pump work?
I am converting an SUV to electric motor powered. When the transmission needs to shift I can cut the power to the motor, "disengaging" it from the transmission. Additionally, the motor doesn't idle, so I have no way to keep hydraulic pressure in the transmission at a standstill. I want to remove the torque converter and power the hydraulic pump externally. Is this possible, or can I use an external pump?
The way an automobile engine with a automatic transmission works is essentially a hydrostatic hydraulic system. If you have for example, a 200 hp engine the engines output is connected to the automatic's transmission hydraulic pump. So that pump is actually consuming all the energy of that engine and the hydraulic flow is directed to the torque converter and gears to give motive power.
You could bypass the transmissions built in hydraulic pump, but it is difficult and a waste of a good pump. A better solution might be to keep the excellent efficient pump that is built into the transmission and come up with a diverter of the hydraulic flow so that when you don't need the flow it just loops around in a flow circuit.
This is similar to a power steering pump which doesn't consume power when it is on, but the moment you turn the wheel a hydraulic valve is opened and the hydraulic fluid is allowed to flow into a cylinder and turn the car wheels in the direction you point to
So if you can get a diagram of your SUV's automatic transmissions hydraulic circuitry, you can buy a hydraulic valve in between the hydraulic pump and the torque convertor. So when you don't want the transmission to add to the drag, just divert the flow away from the converter and loop it back to the pump.

How do I know which type of cylinder heads are on my motor?
There are casting numbers on them, but what do i do with them? It says 6272990? The motor says 140154459 what type of motor is it also? i know its a 454ci GM Motor, but i want to be sure of the exact specifications. Thank you.
These should be rectangular port open chamber heads with 118CC chambers. 2.19 intake and 1.88 exhaust valves. Original on 425HP 427's starting in 1971. Good heads for stock cast iron heads.

How an Espresso Machine Works
An espresso is a beverage made by forcing water heated to just below the boiling point through a filter of tamped, finely ground coffee beans. A single serving of espresso is a 1.25 to 1.5 ounce coffee concentrate topped with a thin layer of foam (referred to as the crema). Valued for its rich body and aromatic flavor, the espresso's bittersweet taste lingers on the palette after each sip, resulting in flavor satisfaction for coffee lovers.
While possible to construct a crude brewing method by forcing boiling water through coffee grounds using the force of steam, a specialized machine is needed to brew the ideal shot of espresso. An espresso machine heats the water to the recommended temperature, controls the water's pressure, and may even offer a steam wand attachment to heat and froth milk to add to the beverage.
The typical home espresso machine has a reservoir where cold water is poured. There is also a removable handle connected to a filter (called a porta-filter), which is just above the platform where the espresso cup is placed. When the machine is turned on, the water from the reservoir is pumped into a heating element. Once this element heats the water to the desired temperature (around 190 degrees Fahrenheit), an indicator light informs the user the brewing process is ready to begin.
Before brewing, the user fills the porta-filter with ground coffee and tamps the grounds. The porta-filter is then put into the machine and locked in place. A switch is flipped by the brewer that signals the machine's pump to pressurize the heating chamber to around 220 psi, forcing the hot water out of the heating element, through the coffee grounds, and out the spout on the bottom of the porta-filter. Once the cup is filled, the espresso machine is switched off and a fresh cup of espresso is ready to be enjoyed.
Although most espresso machines use this basic process to brew espresso, prices can range from fifty dollars to thousands. Some of the added features found in the more expensive units are the ability to moisten the grounds before the infusion process begins, higher grade pumps able to produce greater sustained pressures, beefed up heating systems, integrated water filters, and frothing wands.
Achieving a good cup of espresso from a home machine does not have to cost thousands of dollars, though. Simple procedures can add to the flavor of the espresso even in lower end machines. Filling the reservoir with filtered water will keep unwanted chemicals out of the brewing process. The type of coffee bean and fineness of the grind has a direct impact on the overall flavor and should be experimented with to discover the perfect blend. Also, adjusting the compactness of the grounds in the porta-filter affects the emulsion process, the results of which are visible in the crema. Perhaps the most important quality of a good espresso is freshness. Using fresh grounds will ensure the full taste of the coffee comes through. The espresso should also be consumed within a couple of minutes of brewing to experience its full flavor.
With a little experimentation, the same quality ordered at a cafe can be enjoyed at home using a home espresso brewer. The satisfaction of having perfectly brewed your own espresso, however, will never be found on a Starbuck's menu.

Choosing The Right Breast Pump
In a normal newborn feeding situation, the more your baby consumes the more milk your breasts will make. If your baby is having problems breast feeding or you have sore or cracked nipples, you may stop breast feeding for a short period of time to bottle feed your baby. However if you start to bottle feed more than you breast feed, you run the risk of having your milk supply dry up.
If you are having problems with breast feeding, the best way to keep milk production up while taking a break from breast feeding is by pumping. Pumping is the next best thing to having a baby keeping your supply of milk up. Pumping is also how moms who return to work, keep their milk supply going. There are several types of breast pumps that you should be aware of as not all breast pumps are created equal.
Your basic types of breast pumps are usually electric in nature, but there are battery powered ones for those times when an outlet is not available. There are also hand pumps for those who either cannot afford an electric or battery powered breast pump, or for those who need a quick simple pump for situations that warrant a non-electrical pump.
Hand pumps are basically just that, a pump that you use with the strength of your hand and are not electrical at all in nature. There are pumps that are made to use your foot to power them, but typically the hand pump is used. Generally much smaller in comparison to other pumps and is great for situations where carrying space is critical. One problem with hand pumps is that if you have problems with carpal tunnel syndrome or any other motor skill or tendonitis, you may want to get a foot powered pump or an electric one.
Battery powered breast pumps are great for traveling or for the office if there is no electrical outlet available on a consistent basis. Best for moms whose breast milk supply is already established and no extra pumping is needed to increased supply, but only to keep supply going. If you intend on traveling or going to an appointment where your time is taken up, you may want a battery operated pump in case you need to pump while you are out, and are recommended as emergency or occasional use only.
Electric breast pumps come in two grades: Hospital Grade Breast pump and Personal Grade Breast Pump. The personal grade breast pumps are usually the one people buy for home and office use, as they are more affordable than a hospital grade breast pump. They are designed for use by one person and one person only, unless they are sold after breast feeding is over. At this point they should be sterilized before usage.
Hospital grade breast pumps are much stronger than a personal grade breast pump, and are recommended for moms who are either having trouble getting their milk supply to come in, or are having trouble getting their milk supply to increase for the baby's consumption. Hospital grade pumps are usually also rented as opposed to being bought.
Hospital grade pumps are much more expensive than a personal grade pump, and can be rented from most hospitals or lactation specialists. They are also designed to be used by more than one person as the design allows for the pumps to not even touch the milk. Therefore sterilization is not so critical as with personal pumps.
These pumps are also designed to be able to pump both breasts at one time. These pumps will be used for moms to help initiate milk flow, or to help increase production for the growing baby. These pumps are also bigger in size and bulk and usually set up and left in one place for the convenience of the mom at home. These pumps are usually over $1,000 unless you buy a used one. Freshwater fish for two foot tank. Easy maintenance. Preferably no pump?
I have a 2 foot tank with one air pump. What fish can I put in there that are freshwater/cold water fish with minimum maintenance.

2 feet sounds like a 20 or 30 gallon, but heck, I could be way off.
Find out how many gallons it is and get the necessary corresponding equipment.
If you choose goldfish or minnows, only a filter is required. However, the general ide is to go for 20 gallons of water for each goldie, and ten for every additional goldie. Goldfish are very messy fish, they produce a ridiculous amount of wast compared to their size, so water maintenance is a must.
Minnow are a bit easier, hunt for white cloud mountain minnow, especially the long fin variety, Absolutely gorgeous! They need a school though.
If you want anything but the two above you must have a heater to go along with the filter. Tropical fish need to maintain a constant and steady temp of about 76 degrees.
What you can or should have in there really depends on how many gallons your tank is and the equipment you get.

Make Easy Turnings With the Pontiac Steering Rack
Steering is the term used to the collection of components, linkages and others which allow a vehicle to follow the desired course. The most common steering arrangement is to use a hand-operated steering wheel to turn the front wheels. The steering wheel is positioned in front of the driver thru the steering column. The steering wheel, piston gears, racks and the tie rods are the parts that guides the direction your vehicle.
The two most common types of steering systems are rack-and-pinion and recirculating ball steering. In the rack and pinion steering mechanism, the steering wheel turns the pinion gear which moves the rack from side to side. The rack is sort of a linear gear which meshes with the pinion. This movement applies steering torque to the pivots of the steered wheels thru the tie rods and the short lever steering arm. The recirculating ball mechanism is found in older vehicles and is a variation on the older worm and sector design; the steering column turns the screw which meshes with a gear causing it to rotate about its axis which also moves the pitman arm which is connected to the steering linkage. The rack-and-pinion steering is where the rack-and-pinion gear set is enclosed in a metal tube called the Pontiac Steering Rack and where each end of the rack protrudes from the tube. The tie rod connects to each end of the rack. The pinion gear, on the other hand, is attached to the steering shaft. The motion of turning the wheel is transmitted to the pinion gear which also transmits it to the steering rack. When you turn the steering wheel, the gear also spins, and moves the rack. The Pontiac Steering Rack then converts the steering wheel’s rotational motion into a linear motion needed to turn the wheels. It also supplies a gear reduction which makes it easier to turn the wheels. Normally, it takes about three to four complete revolutions of the steering wheel to make the wheels turn from far left to far right. Lower steering ration means you do not have to turn the steering wheel so much to get the wheels to turn a given distance so the steering gives a quicker response. In the power system, there is a slight difference in the design of the rack. Part of the rack contains a cylinder with a piston in the middle which is connected to the rack. On either side of the pistons are two fluid ports. The power system, though it makes turning the steering wheel easier, adds a new dimension and complexity to the system. To supply high-pressure hydraulic fluid to the steering rack an engine-driven pump is used by the power steering rack.
The Pontiac Steering Rack is not exempted from any damages. The constant wear and tear can cause the Pontiac Steering Rack to leak. In order to ensure that steering is made light and easy there is a need for fluid and if the steering rack has a leak then it will not be able to contain the much needed fluid. Definitely, significant leakage is a basic problem of your steering racks.

yes it is vairy easy power steering up is located on right hand side of engine at the top just loosen off tensioner undo two power steering hoses and fit new pump when fitting new pump it would also be a good idea to check for cracks in pwer steering pump belt when tightening belt just make sure the adjuser is done up enough that it takes the slack out of the belt and when you put the vehicle in full lock it does not squeel
