Engineering Scholarships
Engineering is a complex and growing field. There are many types of engineers including: aerospace engineering, agricultural engineering, architectural engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering and more. Studying to be an engineer can be costly, but fortunately there are a lot of scholarship and grant opportunities for interested students.
Here are just a few to choose from:
1. BMW/SAE Engineering Scholarship - This annual scholarship is provided by BMW AG in recognition of its commitment to excellence in engineering. BMW is world famous for designing and building luxury, high-performance passenger cars and motorcycles. This scholarship is in support of the SAE Foundation to ensure an adequate supply of well-trained engineers for the future. One $6,000 scholarship will be awarded at $1,500 per year for four years. A 3.0 grade point average must be maintained to renew the scholarship.
2. Edward D. Hendrickson/SAE Engineering Scholarship - Hendrickson International, a Boler Company, established an endowment to underwrite the scholarship in memory of the late Edward D. Hendrickson. One $4,000 scholarship will be awarded at $1,000 per year for four years. A 3.0 grade point average and continued engineering enrollment must be maintained to renew the scholarship.
3. SAE/Ford Partnership for Advanced Studies Scholarship - The Ford Partnership for Advanced Studies (Ford PAS) Scholarship was developed by the Ford Motor Company Fund. This annual scholarship is provided by Ford Motor Company to high school seniors who are a past or present student of a Ford PAS program at their high school or in a Ford PAS after-school/weekend/summer/college program. This scholarship is in support of the SAE Foundation to ensure an adequate supply of well-trained engineers for the future. One $5,000 scholarship will be awarded in the freshman year only.
4. SAE Women Engineers Committee Scholarship - The SAE Women Engineers Committee established this scholarship to encourage young women graduating from high school to enter the field of engineering. They are committed to increasing the diversity of SAE membership, especially by promoting the participation and leadership of women. Applicants must be female, have a 3.0 grade point average and be accepted into an ABET accredited engineering program. One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded for the freshman year only.
5. Tau Beta Pi/SAE Engineering Scholarship - The Tau Beta Pi Association, the engineering honor society, is the world's largest engineering society. Founding in 1885 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Tau Beta Pi has initiated more than 492,000 members in 122 years.
Six scholarships valued at $1,000 each will be awarded for the freshman year only.
6. TMC/SAE Donald D. Dawson Technical Scholarship - SAE and The Maintenance Council of American Trucking Association have established this technical education scholarship to honor the leadership of Donald D. Dawson. One scholarship will be awarded each year. The student will receive $1,500 a year for up to four years as long as a 3.0 grade point average and continuing engineering enrollment is maintained.
7. Fred M. Young Sr./SAE Engineering Scholarship - The Young Radiator Company established this scholarship in memory of the company's founder, Fred M. Young, Sr. Mr. Young started the company in 1927 and saw it grow to become a major force in the field of Heat Transfer. One $4,000 scholarship will be awarded at $1,000 per year for four years. A 3.0 grade point average and continued engineering enrollment must be maintained to renew the scholarship.
8. Detroit Section SAE Technical Scholarship - Established in 2001, this scholarship is sponsored by the SAE Detroit Section to encourage children and grandchildren of current Detroit Section members to pursue careers in engineering or the sciences. The Section recognizes that there is a need for more student candidates in these fields, as a shortage of qualified graduates is expected in future years.
Two $3,500 renewable freshman scholarship will be awarded. Student must maintain a 2.5 grade point average and remain in good standing at the college or university in order to qualify for scholarship renewal. A student having completed a two-year program may continue for an additional consecutive two years at a second school offering a complete engineering or science baccalaureate degree program.

i sae this guy i ws dating out on saturday night- i was working in a cocktail bar and he came in with his guy friends (i dated him for a while but to make a long stoy short iwas a bit crazy at the time- my cousin had a couple of months ago hung herself and i was still grieving- i was depressed so i broke it off then wanted him back but emotions were all over the place becaue i was just soo upset about my cousin) anyway his mate came in a few weeks ago and he was there thye shouted out my name and i ignored it becaue i got embarased- i texted him and said i was not being rude jut embarassed and then his mates came in again and one of them gave me kiss on the cheek, anyway he came in last saturday - he didnt say hi, i finished my shift go in drove home and drove past his friends and then at 3 am in the morning got a call from a withheld number and another at 8.30 am on the sunday morn- whats the likely hood it was him in your opinion?
my opinion you should of answered the phone i think there was a big big chance it was him.

1. Prepare yourself: you need to prepare yourself in a professional manner. How do you prepare yourself? By getting acquitted with the responsibilities of a video game tester. The main role of a video game tester is to detect bugs and report it to the developer that assigned you the testing job. First and foremost, you need to learn how to detect bugs. If you already a game player, one that does it for fun, it will be easier for you to learn how to detect glitches in game. You can get this knowledge by testing small games for the web. That way, you will get the experience required to test games for developers. Another way to learn how to test games and find bugs is to play buggy games. Through these ways, you could develop the knowledge and experience required to taken on a bigger testing job.
2. Get yourself a resume: a resume is necessary for you to land a testing job. It’s through your resume companies will be able to know your capabilities before they offer you the job. When building your resume, do not forget to include games you own, the games you’ve play and anything about video games that can thrill your employer. If there is any time you’ve discovered a bug while playing games, also include it in your resume. It will also interest you to know that video game testing is normally assigned to people that are 18 years and above, though people that are below 18 years also get this job but it is very rare. Let that not derail your dreams, its necessary you try first. After you’ve built a resume, review it over and over again to make sure its accurate and no mistakes.
3. Getting Your First Testing Job: After you’ve built your resume, your next step should be to forward it to developers and testing firms. Whether they are hiring or not, just send it to them. That way, you will be on a reserve list if they are not hiring at the moment. It’s not necessary to make direct contact with developers, and let them know about your interest. Convince them and give them many reasons to make them believe you are going to make a thorough testing if you are given one. The more effort you put into it, the more you increase your chances of landing this job. The opportunities are there to be exploited. Video games are produced weekly and monthly, so there are ample of chances for testers. Prepare yourself well, in a professional manner; remember that your first impression counts. When you’ve gotten the testing job and you receive your first testing, read the manual that came with the testing assignment very well. Test the games over and over again, write down your report as you test. When you are through with testing, proofread your report and send it back to the company that assigned you the job. How do I change tie rods on a 2001 Saturn SL1?
I don't know what tools are needed for this job. It looks like I need to remove the tires and brakes to get to it. Is this correct? Any help greatly appreciated!
you will need a jack, some kind of tool to take off the lug nuts, such as a 4-way, the tool that comes with your car, an impact wrench with the correct size socket., a pickle fork(this is a tool with a longish handle and it splits at the end to go around the tie rod end or ball joint), and whatever wrench fits the nut on the bottom of the tie rod end.you will also need a hammer.
These are the necessary tools for an outer end, which is the most common problem. if you are replacing the entire tie rod, and not just the end, follow the tie rod up to the rack and pinion.there will be a nut there.this nut unscrews to take the tie rod off.
If it is just an outer end, jack up the vehicle and remove the tire on the correct side of the vehicle. the tie rod end on the vehicle screws onto the tie rod and is secured in place by a nut that is tightened against it. loosen this nut by turning it clockwise, this way the nut moves away from the end. now, take off the nut on the bottom of the tie rod end.there may be a cotter key here.remove that first.once this nut is completely removed, get the pickle fork.try to jam it between the tie rod end and the place it is mounted.once in place, hit the end of the pickle fork handle with a hammer.keep doing this until the end pops out of the hole.now unscrew the end from the tie rod. Leave the nut on the tie rod, as it will keep the alignment close.screw the new end on and put the shaft facing down into the hole.put on and tighten that nut and cotter pin, and tighten the nut on the tie rod against the new end.
You will need to take your car in for an alignment afterwards unless you dont mind putting new tires on it way prematurely
