The alloy wheels are meant for automobile wheels, and are produced using alloy of magnesium or aluminum, or mixing the two. Why do you need alloy wheels? A 17 or 18 inch look great, but it can be impractical for an average car that has 14 to 15 inches. It is better to buy the larger ones in diameter for looks and handling instead of ride quality.

Motor Hispania Motorcycle rear wheel seizing?
A friend of mine has purchased a Motor Hispania RZ 50 'Urban' motorbike for his son less than a month ago. Last week, after it's 1st service, the sprocket ripped off the rear wheel, seizing it. Luckily his son is ok. Have you had a similiar problem, and what did you do about it? He is trying to get the dealer to return his money, as the bike appears to be completely flawed, but the dealer is playing the problem down as ''it happens on those bikes''.

Has the bike been touched at all since this prob arised? if it hasn't then don't touch it, get another reputable motorcycle repair shop to check it out. Chances are, if it was fine before its service and just after its service this happens suggests to me that the mechanic has overtightened the rear wheel bearing or over tensed the chain.
I bet u anything that the mechanic u took ur bike to has a young person working for him, and if so I bet u he did the job and was not very experienced. If u dont know if he has a young person in the workshop try and find out asap, better to do it without mechanic knowing. Once u know, ask the mechanic if u can have a word with the person who serviced ur bike, hopefully he will be truthfull, and if it is a youngster whow did the job then u have now a rough idea on how much experience he has by just looking at him.
There is a motorcycle shop in my town and he has young people from school etc working for him servicing bikes etc. My neighbour had a bike that she bought new from him , but servicing etc was rubbish, they are well known by a lot of people to do poor workmanship.
Sounds like u have same prob as her. I am not sure, is ur bike new or second hand?

Car and motorcycle theory test really that different?
In the UK are the car and motorcycle theory tests very different? My friend gave me a CD-ROM for practicing for your theory test but its for cars and im gonna be taking a motorcycle one.
should i just use it anyway and gather what info i can from it? or will there be big differences that only apply to car drivers?
there's very little difference between the 2...obvious differences are of course stopping distanses....ide still advise you to get the highway code book and swat up on the bike section.....

Yes,... I admit it. As a young man on a big (at that time) Yamaha XT500 me and my friends (they all had similar bikes) gave the city and county cops fits in our area of Texas. We hit the fields, creeks, woods, troughs, sloughs, ditches, washouts & every terrain a cop car could not go. One small town cop blew up his Ford Torino chasing us. When they finally figured out who we were, the sheriff himself and 2 chiefs of 2 cities personally visited our parents. It was not a pretty sight after that....
I have never even offered to run from any law enforcement since.

Which do you think would be most versatile for most of my auto needs?
(I know little about auto mechanics but have been doing some of the easier jobs so far.... and maybe more in the future, excluding timing belt - so am looking for which torque wrench range might offer the best option for most of the easier jobs I might encounter)

Hi Retardboy. I suggest you go for a 1/2" drive instead. If you intend doing more ambitious stuff like cylinder heads, a 3/8" drive is really not up to the job. Check out www.machinemart.co.uk. They do a 1/2" drive with a range of 28-210Nm for around the £15 mark. It comes with adaptors for use with 3/8" & 1/4" sockets as a bonus. Cheers!

Natural Immune System Boosters
Your immune system is your guard against diseases and infections. I recommend essential oils as an excellent source of immune-stimulating compounds, and the rawest and most natural form of any medicinal plant, but there are other supplements which can be effective. Fresh herbs and whole food remedies are always preferable over packaged herbs or supplements, since they have a much higher potency and frequency and your body absorbs more of their value.
3. Get a full night's sleep. Everybody's different: your body may need anywhere from 6 to 10 hours of sleep each night. Whatever your personal sleep requirement is, get it! Sleep has been linked to balanced hormone levels (including human growth hormone and the stress hormone, cortisol), keeping weight down, clear thinking and reasoning, improved mood, and vibrant, healthy skin.
4. Eat plenty of protein. Protein is a building block for a healthy body, mind, and immune system. Diets low in protein tend to be high in carbs which convert readily to glucose, spiking blood sugar and stressing the pancreas and the immune system.
Antioxidants that help in Boosting Immune System
1. One of the strongest antioxidants is vitamin C, which boosts the immune system to aggressively react on cancer cells. Diets high in this nutrient are linked to reduced risks for stomach, breast, colorectal and prostate cancers. Good sources of vitamin C are citrus fruits, green peppers, cantaloupes and broccoli Those who use tobacco products should eat even more foods containing vitamin C or take supplements since smoking deplete vitamin C reserves quicker than others.
2. Another important antioxidant is vitamin E. This nutrient helps to slow down the symptoms of aging and strengthen body cells that fight infection. People who eat foods rich in vitamin E or take supplements have an added weapon against bacteria and viruses. Vitamin E also helps in the fight against heart disease and cancer. Good food sources of are whole grain foods and vegetable oils. Supplements are recommended to reach the daily requirement of this vitamin. Check with your doctor on the dose.
3. Carotenoids are antioxidants that help to strengthen the immune system by producing lymphocytes. Lymphocytes are cells important to fighting infection. The best sources for carotenoids are the red, yellow and orange fruits and vegetables such as carrots, tomatoes, cantaloupes, pumpkin, etc. and leafy green foods. The four important carotenoids are beta-carotene, lycopene, lutein and zeaxanthin. All of these provide excellent protection against disease.

make my own carb synchronizer?
I have an 81' KZ1100 motorcycle with 4 carbs. I'm looking for instructions on how to make my own carb synchronizer. If anyone has a Clymer motorcycle manual that shows the details on the board mounted manometer, that would be great.
Here's a few sites that show you how to build a manometer. (Mixed in are also carb tuning tips for bikes specific to the motorcycle forums I found them on. These may or may not be applicable to your bike.) These are for V-twins but I think you'll just need to build two and line them up so all levels are even before you start.
I did build one of these and it works fine. The most important tip is use some sort of restrictors in the tubes to prevent liquid movement. I restricted a 3/8 inch ID tube down to about 3/32 and could have gone a little smaller.

After the subdued response to the Fazer, Yamaha Motor India has made another foray into the executive bike segment with the Gladiator. Despite retaining the basic build of the Fazer, the Gladiator sports a more traditional look.
At the front, the conventional form of the bikini fairing and visor are complemented by their sporty and chunky design. The die-cast triple clamp, the large fuel tank with its shapely dummy air scoops on both side and the stepped up design of the seat lend a masculine look to the Gladiator.
The Gladiator is equipped with a single cylinder, four-stroke engine that generates a displacement of 123.7cc. The engine produces a peak power of 11PS at 7,500 rpm and the peak torque of 10.4Nm sets in at 6,500 rpm.
The counter balancer for the crankshaft ensures low vibrations for the Gladiator thus improving the overall refinement and ride comfort. The Gladiator comes with a unique fuel-saving feature called YTPS or the Yamaha Throttle Position Sensor.

I believe Kawasaki is dropping the BN125, which has been a pretty popular training bike for the MSF class, so you may be able to get one of those cheap. Hyosung Motors makes small displacement bikes (250s, not 125s) and have prices aimed at breaking into the US market.
Also, get involved in the vintage scene -- lots of those guys have big collections and you'll sometimes see small bikes offered on the ChiVinMoto list before it gets posted to eBay or Craigslist.

How to attach a torque wrench to an external bottom bracket?
I'm replacing the bottom bracket on my bike with an external one and the instructions advise using a torque wrench to install it. What I don't know how to do is attach the wrench to the bottom bracket so that I can use the torque settings? Can anyone help?
Forget the torque wrench and tighten the bolt or nut with a rachet or wrench handle one foot long. Then if you push or pull with a 20 pound force on the handle, you'll get 20 foot pounds. Many bolts and nuts don't allow the use of torque wrenches because you can't get the torque wrench in there to tighten them! However, make sure not to over tighten to the point of breaking the bolt or stud off.
