need trans dipstick for g35 infinity. seemsthat only infinity dealers can change the fluid?
my local mechinac cannot locate this tool any place does that only infinity can change the fluid?
true, you have to have a scan tool to know the temp of the trans fluid and level varies according to temp. And you must have the factory designed dipstick, which is actually a special tool. Snap-on may carry a universal one?? Why do u need to change the trans fluid anyway?

i need help with the electrical system on a 1989 artic cat cougar 574?
the hand warmers and thumb warmer works but the lights do not. I have hooked a tester up to the headlight and there is no juice on either the high or low beam. i need someone to tell me what is wrong or where i can get a troubleshooting guide. Thanks
my suggestion is to go to a dealer and get a manual

Are Cornwell Tools a good brand compared to Snap-on /Mac Tools? are they as expensive ?
All those brands are professional direct sale tools. You will not find them in a hardware store, only from an authorized dealer that sells directly to mechanics.
I would say they are all about equal, the only difference being the dealer and the service they can provide you. Brands like Craftsman and Kobalt also have lifetime warrantys, but you can exercise the warranty at a storefront (Sears or Lowes), whereas with the direct sale tools, you will have to call your dealer or wait until he comes back around to your shop.

need carb sync help on suzuki?
I recently bought a carb sync tool because i was tired of paying to have it down. I go through a lot of bikes. I am working on a 94 suzuki rf600r with 1800 original miles. It hadnt been ran in 15 years. I cleaned the carbs and got it running but it bogs down and takes forever to warm up. I hooked up the carb sync and every needle is pointing straight at nine o'clock (like a 5 on the vacuum gauges that i got) which is a red section saying there is an air leak. I really dont buy the air leak thing but if all the needles are pointing at the same thing does that mean they are in sync? If i dont absolutely baby the throttle the bike will die no matter how warmed up it is. I'm thinking ths is an air/fuel issue but i dont know. I thought the sync was supposed to clear that up and I would have instant throttle response when the bike is warmed up. Any help would be appreciated
You say the gauges say 5, as in 5 inches of vacuum? Or cm hg? If inches, then that's WAY too low, can't say if that's the metric measurement.
First off, syncing the carbs doesn't "clear" up inadequate fuel or air. All syncing does is make sure the same amount of air flows through each carb, making the engine run smooth. When they're out of sync, it will run very rough at idle but the wider the throttle opening, the smoother it becomes because as a percentage, the difference in air flow between carbs becomes less and the throttle opening becomes wider. That said, it sounds like you have a fuel problem, possibaly in the idle circuits. Those holes and orfices are very tiny and it doesn't take much varnish to clog them up. You may have to get some good carb soak from an auto parts store. Just be sure to remove all the brass parts before soaking because that stuff will erode brass (I found that out the hard way).
As to your gauges, make sure you don't have them dampened too much. There should be little adjustable valves or restrictors on each hose. With the engine running, open them up until the needles fluctuate wildly back and forth, then screw then down until each needle quivers just a bit. If you have them pinched down too much, that will give you false readings. Although idle speed will affect it some, most engines will pull 14-18 inches of vacuum at idle and less at higher engine speeds. And just remember that it doesn't matter whether you're using gauges or mercury column gauges, vacuum is measured in inches of water column and not pounds of pressure as too many people think it is.
