Woodworking Basic Introduction To Windsor Furniture
A deceptively well-engineered furniture style whose parts are assembled mainly from wooden sticks, Windsor represents one of history's most innovative and recognizable furniture designs. The Windsor family of furniture consists of stools, chairs, cradles, stands, and tables. Chairs are the largest category with eight different basic forms, such as comb-backs, step-downs, and the sack-back version. Chairs also spawned nine derivatives that include stools, rocking chairs, writing armchairs, and child-sized chairs.

The origin of Wndsors is ancient history. Their antecedents can be attributed to the Egyptians, where tomb drawings of the 18th Dynasty depict workmen sitting on three-legged hand-hewn stools socketed to a plank seat. The reason for the name Wndsor is something of an enigma, but the most logical explanation is that they were named during the first decade of the 18th Century after the English town of Windsot whose beech trees provided a plentiful supply of raw material for legs and other turned parts.
Windsor chairs improved on the traditional joiner's chairs of the period by eliminating the need to glue-up seat frames. In a Windsor chair, the seat is a solid plank serving as the foundation for the legs and stretchers and for the spindle back. That simplicity and strengh of design is no doubt one of the keys to the chair's undying popularity and longevity.
Windsor chair making started as a cottage industry in England during the 1720s, but soon became an important factory-based operation, employing hundreds of workers, centered in the town of High Wycombe. Although the first Wndsors in America were chairs imported from England, Philadelphia chair makers almost immediately capitalized on this popular new form of easily made seating. Their one-man shops expanded into large factories.
English chair makers took advantage of the physical properties of different woods for different components of the chairs, using ash for bent parts, beech for turnings, and elm for seats. Their American counterparts used hickory,red oak or ash for bending, maple for turnings, and pine for seats. Windsors were traditionally painted green, but other colors such as blue, mustard and red were also used. The paint concealed the different wood colors and served to protect the wood outdoors, while conveying a unifying wholeness to the piece. Many English chairs were simply dip stained. Keratin glue or micro rings for hair extension application
In the past hair extensions were seen as a luxury item reserved for celebrities only. Today, hair extensions are no longer just for celebrities. Due increased demand for extension services, many stylists have received training to attach and remove hair extensions. The industry as a whole has exploded to include a minefield of different methods of attachment available. Keratin glue and micro-rings,the most common methods are compared below.
Keratin Glue application
Keratin glue is heated in a glue gun with the hair extensions literally glued to the existing hair. The keratin glue can withstand both heat and chemical treatments. An adhesive remover is used to remove the hair extensions dissolving the glue bonds to a powdery substance. If excess glue is used the extensions may become heavy placing excess pressure on your existing hair. Breakage can occur with fine hair as the sticky glue is combed out.
Micro Ring application
Micro rings are arguably the best method of application of hair extensions. A small metal tube is clamped over the real hair to attach extension hair. 97 Chevy Express Van, Use a torx to remove the brake calipers?
I think it's a Torx bit that removes the two caliper bolts but since it's located on the back side of the caliper with a rubber boot around it I can't be sure. If so, what size Torx? If not, what do I use then?
Okay, shortly after I wrote the question, I remembered what I needed from the last time. It is an allen wrench -- I got one that uses a ratchet to drive it. But the guy that thought it was a t55 torx did give a good suggestion (although too late) about just loosening the bottom bolt and pivoting the caliper up. I will remember that for next time.... And, please, enough with the stupid answers on here like, "call a parts store and ask them" or "buy the repair manual" I KNOW I can do that, but I chose to aske the question HERE. If you don't know the answer, don't bother with telling me where else I can find the answer, I'll wait till someone with some knowlege responds here.

Novell Aids Xen Virtualization at Bmw Group
Novell, a leader in the infrastructure software for the Open Enterprise, earlier announced that the BMW Group is using SUSE Linux Enterprise Server from Novell® with integrated Xen* virtualization software to implement virtualized workloads in its data center, thus reducing hardware costs and simplifying deployment.
After extensive testing by BMW IT Research Center staff in North America and Germany, the automaker is now ready to deploy virtualized data center solutions using SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLED) 10 and Xen hypervisor on Intel x86 dual-core servers with Intel Virtualization Technology. BMW joins a number of automakers like Audi, which is also running Novell's SUSE Linux operating system. With the technology around, it won’t be hard for the automaker to track the developments of BMW muffler and other auto parts as well as the updates in the day-to-day business.
According to BMW, Xen virtualization technology built into SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 will allow the company to increase flexibility in managing server life cycles. BMW will also gain operational and cost advantages in other areas, in addition to having a flatter support structure through the integrated operating system and virtualization layer. Hardware resources can be more efficiently used through server consolidation, and BMW is able to cluster virtual servers and migrate them live from one physical server to another as needed. The company is also currently evaluating Novell ZENworks Orchestrator as a way to manage the resulting virtual data center systems.
“The BMW Group is taking advantage of what the market is just discovering, that Xen open source virtualization software fully integrated in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server is a viable alternative to proprietary virtualization solutions, providing high performance at a lower cost,” said Roger Levy, vice president and general manager of Open Platform Solutions for Novell. “Integration ensures all pieces of the solution work well together, and as is the case with open source software, it eliminates vendor lock-in and enhances customer choice.” The automaker added the Xen virtualization technology will allow the company to increase flexibility in managing server life cycles.
According to consumers, SUSE Linux Enterprise, the next-generation platform for the open enterprise, is the best-engineered, lowest-cost and most interoperable platform for enterprise computing, from the desktop to the data center. As a fact, more and more businesses are using the technology to increase leverage. Capgemini, for one, has also entered into a partnership with Novell. The latter will deliver new solutions to enterprise customers using a combination of open source and proprietary software.
Under terms of the agreement, Capgemini will improve its open source consulting practice with Novell capabilities, specifically centered on the deployment of IT solutions using SUSE Linux Enterprise from Novell along with mixed-source applications and management tools. What’s more, customers can deploy a Linux platform across their entire desktop-to-data center infrastructures with extra confidence that only a global consulting leader could offer.

"Every day we hear from more customers that open source is becoming a critical part of their IT strategy as they seek choice and value. Vintage Jewellery: The Real Bling or Not the Real Bling?
Vintage Jewellery during the Georgian period (1714 - 1830)
The Georgian period covers a period of British history which spans that reigns of four kings, George 1, George 11, George 111 and George 1V as Prince of Wales, during his fathers', George 111s' illness. Vintage jewellery became available and fashionable during the Georgian period. Vintage jewellery during the Georgian period was used to simulate the real thing. Obviously this made expensive looking jewellery much more affordable. This was made practical as a result of improvements in the manufacture of paste gems. These paste gems could be set into all types of good quality settings to give the illusion of precious jewels. Georgian and subsequent Victorian vintage jewellery pieces are the earliest examples of the vogue for costume jewellery that survives in any quantity. The difference being, that during the Victorian period the vintage jewellery became unapologetically semi-precious or non-precious in its sourcing of materials. Design of individual pieces gradually over the two periods took precedence over the actual materials used within them.
The material pinchbeck, was used for the first time, as a substitute for gold for vintage jewellery. To the non expert eye it is impossible to spot the difference. The metal is the same colour as gold but an expert can distinguish it from gold by its weight. Pinchback is lighter than gold, it is made from a combination of Zinc and Copper. Although this was a common material for use in vintage jewellery during this period, few pieces of vintage jewellery created during this period has survived to be admired today. Vintage jewellery made from metal plated with gold is more common. You can see the difference between the two by checking the item for any points of wear, i.e. edges and hinges. A genuine piece of pinchback vintage jewellery will be gold at all these points of wear. Where as its gold plated compatriot will show the underlying base metal beneath.
Vintage Jewellery during the Victorian period (1837 - 1901)
Victoria reigned from 1837 to 1901. This period witness highly significant changes in fashion, these changes directly influenced the world of vintage jewellery. At the start of Victoria's reign during the late 1830's, jewellery was romantic and often, nationalistic. The general aesthetic led to the sentimental 'early Victorian look'. This look is given the label 'Victorian', but is actually caused by the tastes of her husband, and first cousin Albert. He was instrumental in the revival of the Gothic Style in Britain. The gothic trend influenced the design worlds of both architecture and fashion. This in turn feed into the design of jewellery.
The middle years of Victoria's reign saw great changes in the engineering. These rapid developments resulted in the start of, what is now recognised as the being of, mass production. This change can be seen reflected in the fashion world. Gradually the craftsman jeweller was rejected for the more affordable, mass produced alternative. Until this mid Victorian period, most western jewellery came from Europe. As a result of the changes in buying patterns and fashion, jewellery was soon to be imported from the Americas' and Australia. Some jewellers, such as the American Tiffany began to expand so greatly that they open their own retail outlets in major European cities such as Paris, Barcelona, and London.
The dramatic change in jewellery, in particular, vintage jewellery, took place as a direct result of the change in fortunes of the Queen. In 1861, Prince Albert died, and Victoria began, what was to be, a protracted period of mourning. Initially Victoria's mourning outfits involved no jewellery of note. As the months of the change in her vestige drew out however, more attention was paid to this aspect of her attire. Victoria started to wear mourning jewellery, gradually as the months drew on these initially, mourning items, became, fashion items. Whitby Jet, from the North of England being her personal favourite. Many examples of the trend can be seen today within the resulting vintage jewellery of this period.

The term "power tool" designates any hand held tool which is not souly operated by manual power. Power tools are generally considered to be portable and light weight, such as circular saws,belt sanders,cordless drills,routers and etc. Table saws, drill presses, band saws and the like are considered to be floor machinery or light machinery.
