Choosing The Right Breast Pump
In a normal newborn feeding situation, the more your baby consumes the more milk your breasts will make. If your baby is having problems breast feeding or you have sore or cracked nipples, you may stop breast feeding for a short period of time to bottle feed your baby. However if you start to bottle feed more than you breast feed, you run the risk of having your milk supply dry up.
If you are having problems with breast feeding, the best way to keep milk production up while taking a break from breast feeding is by pumping. Pumping is the next best thing to having a baby keeping your supply of milk up. Pumping is also how moms who return to work, keep their milk supply going. There are several types of breast pumps that you should be aware of as not all breast pumps are created equal.
Your basic types of breast pumps are usually electric in nature, but there are battery powered ones for those times when an outlet is not available. There are also hand pumps for those who either cannot afford an electric or battery powered breast pump, or for those who need a quick simple pump for situations that warrant a non-electrical pump.
Hand pumps are basically just that, a pump that you use with the strength of your hand and are not electrical at all in nature. There are pumps that are made to use your foot to power them, but typically the hand pump is used. Generally much smaller in comparison to other pumps and is great for situations where carrying space is critical. One problem with hand pumps is that if you have problems with carpal tunnel syndrome or any other motor skill or tendonitis, you may want to get a foot powered pump or an electric one.
Battery powered breast pumps are great for traveling or for the office if there is no electrical outlet available on a consistent basis. Best for moms whose breast milk supply is already established and no extra pumping is needed to increased supply, but only to keep supply going. If you intend on traveling or going to an appointment where your time is taken up, you may want a battery operated pump in case you need to pump while you are out, and are recommended as emergency or occasional use only.
Electric breast pumps come in two grades: Hospital Grade Breast pump and Personal Grade Breast Pump. The personal grade breast pumps are usually the one people buy for home and office use, as they are more affordable than a hospital grade breast pump. They are designed for use by one person and one person only, unless they are sold after breast feeding is over. At this point they should be sterilized before usage.
Hospital grade breast pumps are much stronger than a personal grade breast pump, and are recommended for moms who are either having trouble getting their milk supply to come in, or are having trouble getting their milk supply to increase for the baby's consumption. Hospital grade pumps are usually also rented as opposed to being bought.
Hospital grade pumps are much more expensive than a personal grade pump, and can be rented from most hospitals or lactation specialists. They are also designed to be used by more than one person as the design allows for the pumps to not even touch the milk. Therefore sterilization is not so critical as with personal pumps.
These pumps are also designed to be able to pump both breasts at one time. These pumps will be used for moms to help initiate milk flow, or to help increase production for the growing baby. These pumps are also bigger in size and bulk and usually set up and left in one place for the convenience of the mom at home. These pumps are usually over $1,000 unless you buy a used one. Personal grade pumps are usually less than $500, and are more affordable than the more powerful hospital grade pump.

2 feet sounds like a 20 or 30 gallon, but heck, I could be way off.
Find out how many gallons it is and get the necessary corresponding equipment.
If you choose goldfish or minnows, only a filter is required. However, the general ide is to go for 20 gallons of water for each goldie, and ten for every additional goldie. Goldfish are very messy fish, they produce a ridiculous amount of wast compared to their size, so water maintenance is a must.
Minnow are a bit easier, hunt for white cloud mountain minnow, especially the long fin variety, Absolutely gorgeous! They need a school though.
If you want anything but the two above you must have a heater to go along with the filter. Tropical fish need to maintain a constant and steady temp of about 76 degrees.
What you can or should have in there really depends on how many gallons your tank is and the equipment you get.

'96 RAV4 Wheel Bearing - part+2.5 hr. labor fair? "harder" to put on?
I was told by the garage (not someone I normally go to, so not sure how trustworthy) that my '96 toyota RAV4 (almost 150K mi) needs the left front wheel bearing replaced to pass inspection. they estimated $65 for the part, which is about what I found online. But, they told me it is a labor-intensive job to fix, and would take about 2.5 hours. They said that this particular kind of wheel bearing is "closed" so it's not something that can just be repacked w/ grease, and that it is a tight fit and requires some sort of hydraulic something-or-other to fit it on tightly and accurately - not an easy -to-fix wheel bearing like other vehicles. True? Not true? Please help quick! I need to tell them whether or not to do the work this morning, and I'm trying to get other estimates. Thank you!!
There might be one more suprize the drive flange with the wheel studs can wear away at the bearing when there is slack. Hydraulic Press is used to drive out the old bearing and press in the new one. You might call the toyota parts department and ask if they also sell flanges when wheel bearings are replaced. Yes 2.5 hours is the going price and your mechanic will come out looking like he did something. Front suspension under the fender is the dirtiest place on the car.

HOW TO SELECT A MODERN PAINT BOOTH?
When we talk of a modern paint booth, we have to discuss the powder booth. Powder coating as a tool for surface finish goes back to 1967 in Australia where the technology was first tried out. Powder coating is the application of a dry plastic or polymer powder electro statically on the article. It needs no solvent and the curing is done with heat when the powder flows to create a skin imparting surface protection. The coating is very hard and tougher when compared to a normal paint. Automobile and bicycle components are typically coated in powder booths along with extrusions in aluminum and similar metals. These powders have the added advantage that they do not emit volatile organic compounds, the coating can be much thicker than the paint, there is no wastage and the process is cheaper. The process in powder coating booths involves a surface preparation or a degreasing operation, spraying of the powdered paint using an electrostatic gun and curing inside an oven.
In powder coating booths, the conveyor system runs through the preparation area. In the preparation area, degreasing is done by washing with industrial degreasing solvents and thereafter by blasting. Etching and repeated rinsing are also carried out. The articles in pallets then move into the work area. In the work area, the paint powder, generally a thermoplastic polymer is sprayed electro statically on the articles. The batch then enters the conveyor oven for the curing operation. Recovery of excess powder is done by a recovery booth.
Modern industrial tunnel type of powder coating booths would need to have a rugged design to withstand tough working conditions. The panels are therefore of 18 gauge galvanized steel. The lighting system is designed for focused illumination and an internal access for both a clean external look and for dust control. The conveyor oven uses a direct-fired burner system and an integrated oven control panel that displays the operating hours and temperatures. There is a high temperature variable exhaust and a plug blower for maintaining high temperature control. A smart control system analyzes the blower and gas train.

How to paint plastic parts from car interior?
I have a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT and I want to remove plastic parts on the dashboard, doors, etc. And paint them a different color than gray. What kind of paint will i need for this? I have a paint booth to use, I just don't know what kind of paint I need, and where I could get it.
You will need to use a specific manufacturers system, ie, Sherwin Williams, Dupont etc.
Wipe the parts clean with an alcohol wipe of some sort, do not use any type of reducer, wax and grease remover is also suitable.
There usually is a clear plastic primer/adheasion promotor that is sprayed on first and allowed to flash, the color is applied next and the paint will be plastic paint or a paint that you will have to add an elasticizer to. Get the tech sheet for the system you are going to use and it will tell you all that you need to know. Most Auto Parts Stores have some brand of painting system. Consult them. A light gray Scotchbright pad can be used to very lightly scuff the part for better adheasion, do not be too agressive though, just light scuffing will do. It is not a requirement though. If you know a good Body Shop that mixes their own paint, they can supply you with the products needed or send you to their supplier. Good Luck

Disability: Adapt or die trying
After the shock of being diagnosed with a rare and largely unknown disease or indeed any debilitating disease, it is of great concern to me that there is such a variety of initial reactions to the bad news.
Some are shocked into silence, others into outbursts of questions, tears are more or less the norm, anger, blame, disappointment and a whole spectrum of emotions come flooding to the fore. At this point let me hasten to add that I am not a psychologist or a medical practitioner of any kind. I am trying to expose my feelings at the time of my diagnosis and my route forward. I am not saying that my way is the correct and only way, because we all deal with trauma in our own way. But, if I can help just one person I will have accomplished what I set out to do.
I was diagnosed with Inclusion Body Myositis in 2000 after what seemed like millions of needles, pills, potions, prodding, pulling and pain. This is a very rare disease loosely translated into layman’s terms as inflammation of the muscles. Over time the muscles degenerate and eventually virtually cease to function. The disease is incurable but in most cases not life threatening. But enough about my disease.
It took me approximately three years to come to terms with my diagnosis and during that time I was totally absorbed in trying to find out more about the disease and explored all possible avenues of information and possible cures. I spent many fruitless hours searching the net and reading books only to find out that out of all the thousands of sites visited the information was extremely limited. The sites had limited information which was repeated on site after site and book after book. In a nutshell there is no cure so learn to live with it.
At this stage I changed my focus and if there is only one word of advice I can give, it is this. Don’t obsess with trying to find miracle cures, drugs, potions or pills. Explore and probe for information yes, but don’t make it your priority. Leave this in your Doctor’s capable hands. Remember that they have studied for many years to do this for you. Try instead to concentrate your efforts on finding ways and means of coping and working around the disability. In other words let the Doctors handle the disease while you concentrate on life.
At this stage you need to take your pride and place it deep within the deepest pocket you can find. It will only get in the way, when it comes to decision time on help aids and equipment. Crutches, walking sticks, wheelchairs, eating utensils, toileting procedures, bathing and sleeping arrangements all need to be adapted to suit your particular problem. You need to become innovative in your approach towards these help aids. What works for me will not necessarily work for you. You should also involve your family and friends in the thinking and designing aspects. In this way they become informed of your various difficulties and quite often come up with lots of clever ideas to assist your day to day living. If you struggle to feed yourself adapt your utensils to suit. Thicker handles or curved forks or spoons, raised toilet seats, raised beds and chairs make it easier to get in and out. Electronic gadgets, like can openers, blue tooth for cell phones, speaker phones for landlines, on screen keyboards, speech recognition for computers sticks with rubber tips, reaching sticks with jaws to pick up things, and the list goes on.
My point being that you concentrate your energies on making yourself comfortable rather than doing other more knowledgeable people’s work for them. There are laboratories, Doctors and scientists doing great work to cure all these obscure diseases so leave it in their capable hands.
We also need to learn strategies and coping mechanisms to be able to avoid the trips down pity party lane. Going down this lane is inevitable but the amount of time spent there should be limited by concentrating on other interests. The longer we spend there the more difficult it is to get out of it. We all have God given gifts of sight, hearing and movement. If any of these senses are impaired we have to teach ourselves to sharpen the others and use them. Get an interest like reading, writing, scrap booking, painting, photography, TV, sport, computer games, internet etc etc etc.The operative word being, “interest”.
When you feel down, immerse yourself in an interest that can hold your attention for long enough to avoid the pity party. We do not have sufficient strength to cope with daily living let alone wasting this precious resource on feeling sorry for ourselves.
One last point I’d like to make is that we do the things that we can do, and ask others for help with the things we can’t manage. DO NOT let yourself slip into the “I am incapable of doing anything” mode. Don’t expect others to do everything for you especially when they know, and you know, that you can do it yourself. This will build resentment rather than compassion and help.
Don’t ever give up the fight for a better quality of life but try to embrace your circumstances and concentrate your efforts on improving them.

what kind of wiring harness or clip adapter do i need to install a stereo in my 1996 ford probe gt?
i recently totaled my last car, a 1999 ford escort se sport. i had a nice custom sound system in my escort, which i pulled out after the wreck... i'm buying a 1996 ford probe gt.. its a sweet ride... 24v 2.5 litre v6.. custom six speed racing transmission... but anyways. i want to put my system in.. i have a kenwood head unit and i was ust wondering if anyone knows whether the stereo wiring harness is the same in an escort as it is in a probe.. i know that the probe was actually designed and built by mazda, so idk if the electrical is american or japanese...
The wiring harness is not the same. The one you need is Metra Part #70-1770. The install kit isn't the same either. Metra Part #99-5510. Total cost between the two on ebay is $21.

How or can you clean live sand from your salt water tank?
Have a 55 gallon salt water tank and was wondering how or if you can change or clean your tank sand.
As long as you don't want to use it as a denitrifying bed (where anaerobic areas would develop), you can just stir it up, sending the detritus into the water column where you can easily suck it out of the water or allow the filter to pick it up. To change it entirely, use a large siphon hose and simply suck it out like you would be vacuuming it.

Open ended answer- Grease gun and put about 3-4 pumps into each grease "zerk" on the lift. They may be hidden by dirt so wife clean with a shop rag before and look for ones hidden by grase dirt or just hard to get to or see locations.
Indoors do it once every two years. Outdoors(Florida comes to mide) do it every 6 months.

What hardner to use with alkyd/oil enamel?

I plan to paint my farm tractor in the spring with alkyd/oil paint because it's much cheaper and would like to use hardner, then later to use clear. Will be using HVLP turbine system (cheap model) for this work. What hardner would be best and which clear to use?
