Keratin glue or micro rings for hair extension application
In the past hair extensions were seen as a luxury item reserved for celebrities only. Today, hair extensions are no longer just for celebrities. Due increased demand for extension services, many stylists have received training to attach and remove hair extensions. The industry as a whole has exploded to include a minefield of different methods of attachment available. Keratin glue and micro-rings,the most common methods are compared below.
Keratin Glue application
Keratin glue is heated in a glue gun with the hair extensions literally glued to the existing hair. The keratin glue can withstand both heat and chemical treatments. An adhesive remover is used to remove the hair extensions dissolving the glue bonds to a powdery substance. If excess glue is used the extensions may become heavy placing excess pressure on your existing hair. Breakage can occur with fine hair as the sticky glue is combed out.
Micro Ring application
Micro rings are arguably the best method of application of hair extensions. A small metal tube is clamped over the real hair to attach extension hair. Good quality micro-rings are light weight with a silicon inner lining to prevent hair extensions from slipping. Due to the light weight of the rings there is no damage to the roots of your existing hair. Removal is simply done by lightly unclamping the micro-rings allowing the extensions to fall out. Can I use regular hot glue to bunch hair extensions together?
I want to use the micro link aka clamp method to do hair extensions, but the beauty supply store closest to me only sells human hair on a weft, so i would have to cut it off, and then but this special hair extension glue for about $70, but i want to know if it will be okay if I use regular hot glue from a craft store...

And no, don't use hot glue unless you want to ruin your extensions.

Fire lights that help to douse fires
Just as police need special lights on their vehicles as well as on their person, firefighters also need lights on their vehicles and on their person. These fire lights make use of both halogen and LED technology both for small and large lights, and strobe lights are also used in many instances. As in the case of other emergency vehicle lights, LED is becoming more popular for use in fire lights as well since these have a much longer life. With LED, the user is never under threat of the light failing suddenly when he is working. LED lights may gradually dim after a long time of use but they do not conk out suddenly. This makes battery the only concern in using fire lights efficiently.
Even this problem is becoming increasingly minimal because manufacturers are consistently improving the quality of fire lights so that newer models are extremely energy efficient with limited drain on the battery. Even then, firefighters always carry spare batteries to make sure that they are not disadvantaged at any time due to insufficient lights. The lights meant for use in fire trucks will have a cigarette adapter, mounting brackets of various types, and will have several flash patterns.
The fire lights that firefighters carry while moving through the smoke and debris of a fire ravaged area is always designed to be attached somewhere on the user's body. This provision is very important because a firefighter has to have both his hands free to go about his work and cannot have one hand holding his light. Some fire lights can be attached to the brim of a fire helmet, or even to a belt or other parts of a uniform. These lights will typically have swivel clamps for attaching the lights. The advantage with swivel clamps is that they can be rotated a full circle so that the light can be focused in any angle or direction.
Bidirectional fire lights, that is, lights which have a forward facing half as well as a backward facing half are quite popular with firefighters. While they need a forward looking light to move forward, the backward facing one is necessary to keep themselves visible to those following, to make it easy for the group to synchronize their actions. In some fire lights the backward facing lights are kept blue in color as blue lights are easier to track amidst smoke.
There are larger hand held fire lights also, a few of which firefighters store in their vehicles all the time. These can also be rested on the ground at the operation site and will have powerful beams that can be adjusted and focused at fairly good distances. And all fire lights will have feather touch buttons because firemen will always need to use them without removing their gloves.
Fire lights have to be, and are always, shock proof, smoke proof, and water proof. Heat, smoke, and water pour down at the venue of fire rescue operations and to be useful in a place like that these lights have to withstand severe dozes of heat and water. Collision against hard objects is also a high probability in the semi-dark situations created by a fire and most fire lights are designed to withstand a fall of more than 30 feet.

Where do I get the clamps for making a trot line?
I need to get some kind of clamp for my trot lines to keep the swivel put. I dont like having to tie so many dropper loops.
You can find litlle clamps and gizmos for trot lines at barlowstackle.com or at jannsnetcraft.com.
I haven't run trot lines in years and years, but when I did I stayed away from swivels and things like that. It's easier to tie an overhand knot at the same spacing as you normally tie dropper loops. Tie a simple loop at the end of each of your dropper lines. Use the loops to "lasso" the main line at the knots. Keep the loop around the knots and it will keep them from sliding. You can make a trot line for nearly half the cost by eliminating the swivel, and it's easier to set up and take down.

1993 Chevy 350?
I am having my motor rebuilt through a 'friend' that wants the motor himself, I have been told that my motor has a Drop Forged Crank Shaft that is wanted for race cars and that I should be cautious of him switching it on me. I've also been told there are identifying marks on the shaft that I can look for to ensure that I get mine back, Where do I look? Can I make my own marks? Any info would be great!
I think you should take it to someone else if your uncomfortable with the person doing the rebuild.If you have to be worried about him stealin your crank then he isnt a real engine builder and probably wouldnt do a good job anyway.

Is there a better way to attach a tin elbow/hose to a dryer outlet than a metal/plastic clamp or duct tape?
The dryer outlet is only ~1/2" long and inadequate to get a snug fit between a 4" tin elbow/hose when using a clamp. The clamp isn't designed to tighten at any angle in relation to the pipe, and any extension easily falls off. Duct tape doesn't work either as this gets damp and loses its sticking properties. I've tried a plastic extension in the past, but found the adhesive ring to have the same problem, because the extension can only "hang on" with the 1/2" available on the dryer outlet. I'd rather not resort to superglue... please help.
