Does a Honda Automatic Transmission have an oil pan?
I have a 1989 Honda Accord and I want to place a large magnet on the tranny pan to collect any metal shavings floating in the transmission oil. Maybe there is another place to put a magnet that would work as well.

Is a car jack for a classic GTO specific to year?
I know it sounds silly, but I don't know.
Do you have to buy a jack for a GTO specific to the year? Like do I need to look for a '70 GTO car jack, or just any Pontiac car jack?
I know it sounds retarded, but I was told by quite a few people that Pontiacs have to have car jacks made specifically for them.
if your looking for a original jack for a 70 gto i believe the base and the pole part of any gm car is the same but the part that goes onto the bumper is different as the bumper shapes are different try and find some one in the pontiac oakland club they will know

Should I have an auto body shop paint my vintage fridge for me? I want it pink?
I bought some appliance paint at Home Depot and had them tint it pink, but I'm afraid to paint it myself with just a brush. I also bought some spray primer to apply first. Am I going about this all wrong?, should I just let the car guys paint it?.
AND WOULD A AUTO BODY SHOP BE WILLING TO PAINT MY FRIDGE FOR ME?. Do I have to take it to their shop?, it is heavy like a Submarine!. Please someone give me some advice, I cant sleep thinking about having a pink fridge.
i have been an automotive painter for 20 years +. i have painted everything from rerigerators to desks to filing cabinets and lawn furniture over the years. you will get a good job, but it is probably going to cost a couple hundred bucks. just call around to you local shops and they will probably do it. the smaller shops are more likely to do it and you will have a better chance if business is slow at the time. New appliences are painted in the same manner, just in a factory by robots. the materials are basically the same. good luck

how to read oil dipstick on ford escort 1.6 (1983) engine...it has 3 indentations, where is half full and max?
the dipstick has an indentation near the end, clearly that is not full, but in the middle is another, which i have thought is to read full, but then it ovals out further up to indent again before the round sick, is that top mark the full mark?

First let me say straight away that the escort only uses 2 marks on its dipstick .
Bottom one is low
next one up is full
inbetween is half full .

How can i wire my truck for power seats?
I have a 1993 ford ranger xlt. and i am going to buy bucket seats, but they are power seats, so how do i wire it up so the power seats will work?
Generally speaking, the seats will need a fairly heavy wire to carry 12 volts to them.
You should put a relay and/or a fuse in that wire, in case of overload.
I assume the seat switch is on the side of the seat? If so, then all the wiring for them and the seat motor should already be there, and all you'll have to do is get power and ground to the assembly.
A wiring diagram for whatever type of car the seats came from might not be a bad idea, either.
Also get an EVTM (wiring book) for your Ranger...it'll tell you where all the junctions, fuses, etc, are. You should be able to find a good place to draw power from with that.

Skoda Octavia RS price any good?
I 've seen a Skoda Octavia RS for sale for £4995 with only 45k miles and full service & history is this a good price? I've already done a vehicle history check on the internet and it came back as a clean car with no bad history. I would trade my Honda in for it and probably get 2k off! is that a good deal? My Honda has 72k miles and it's a 2003 model just like the Skoda. The Skoda looks really well looked after too with full leather! Could anyone out there please tell me if this is a bargain and what should I look out for before buying.
That's a good price, Don't follow Parker's guide as they are way too low. I brought mine with 110k on the clock for 3k so a couple more grand for half the mileage is good. Check the water pump and cambelt...Most important this needs to be done 60k OR 4 years and the water pump should be changed to metal impeller then. So this should been done for a 2003 one. It costs about £500 to get done and would need doing right away. The cars are holding there value well, I brought mine for 3k and could sell it for that again easy.

Tire inflation monitoring systems became noticed about the year 2003 and was built to easily inform drivers of their air pressures, warning them of a difficulty tire before the tire became flat. This new technology helped save us from a possible disaster while towing our sail boat behind our RV!
Attaching Sensors to the tires ( via replacing the valve stem caps ) would detect low tire pressures and display the location, information and info thru a flashing light which then signals the particular pressure of the tire to the driver thru a Monitor found in the dash area of their vehicles. It would even display tire pressures while driving down the line. Over-inflation, causing high temperature tires, as well as under-inflated tires, wouldn't go un-noticed anymore, as a tpms would report an alert thru a wireless electronic machine.
For years , we had travelled in our RV worry-free and without experiencing any significant tire issues, but in 2001, we started on an RV trip, pulling our 19' sail boat behind us on a trailer, blind to the flat tyre that had occurred on the sail boat trailer. But then a temporary automobile honked and pointed at the boat trailer behind the RV, so we pulled over to inspect the ship and trailer. Because we had a flat tire and didn't know about it, we had been pulling the trailer down the highway with only 3 instead of four tires. The problem tire on the sailboat trailer had no wheel, nor fender, nor leaf springs ; the spindle was also damaged. The spindle grease was on fire and the axle was softening down into the asphalt. ( Also on the back of the sailboat was an outboard engine full of gas. ) We had come so close to a major disaster!
Naturally this ruined the remainder of our day as we were consumed with coping with the difficulty. Since we were in the middle of the desert with no help in site, we dismantled and removed the spindle, put it in the RV center isle, and drove 2 hours to the nearest city, leaving the ship trailer by the side of the road. We finally found an RV parts store and a welder to patch up the damaged axle. It was dark before we eventually got back to the boat trailer and re-installed the spindle. Whew!
We then began to realize that thousands of other people on the road have tire Problems too ( we had passed them on the road many times, thinking how lucky we were that we were not the ones with the flat tire ) ! Many low-tire issues, if caught in time, could just be corrected by repairing the tire, and would avert an impending blow-out if one knew about the deflation earlier. An additional benefit of having a tpms is the major, improved fuel savings due to properly inflated tires. No necessity to check tires anymore in bad weather by kneeling down to check pressures with a tire gauge!
The above terrifying experience caused us to look into some sort of technology that would supply a warning and a caution to a low or high pressure tire, also adding and increasing safety while driving, whether or not it's for an RV, a vehicle, for trucking fleets or any kind of automobile with wheels. Although initially I became concerned in doing my research on tpmss, I learned of a company who had already come up with a wonderful tpm system, PressurePro, at a reasonable cost, so we made contact with them and became their north America Distributor for the product, finally hiring Dealers in the usa to work for us. The system includes an aftermarket illuminated Monitor attached to the dash area thru Velcro, and plugs into the ciggie lighter plug, or it can use an optional hard wire. Small Sensors use batteries and replace the schrader valve stem caps. They then transmit wirelessly to the Monitor. The range is approximately 2 hundred ft. Line of sight ; accuracy is within psi. The Sensor requires new batteries ( about each five years ) ; replacement Sensors are going to be available at a reduced price.

Motorcycle tire air pressure: How important is it to have an exact psi value?
My motorcycle's manual tells me that the optimal tire air pressure is 25psi for the front wheel. At what level of discrepancy in psi reading should I be concerned that I need to adjust tire pressure? Is a difference in +2 / -2 OK? What if it is +5 / -5? How exact should this be?
+/- 2psi is not too bad, but its best to be right on, the air pressure is probably the most important handling factor on a motor cycle considering it controls everything from contact patch to side wall flex. Keep it as close to what is recommended! Good luck hope this helps!
