What is the difference with EOBD and OBD?
European Onboard Diagnostics(EOBD) and Onboard Diagnostics(OBD)
OBD relates to all on board diagnostics by any manufacturer,before year 2000 vehicle manufacturers used their own protocols for diagnostics,meaning that every make of vehicle could use differing ways of communicating with diagnostics eqpt,resulting in lots of different software and leads.
EOBD is an (almost) all encompassing set of protocols which means all cars from 2000 on(and around 2003 for diesels)use the same 16 pin diagnostics socket and basically the same way of communicating with diagnostic eqpt.
Basically EOBD makes life a fair bit easier for those involved with diagnostics.

is it worth it to spend 60$ on a car ding / dent size of a grape?
i just bought a 2007 used honda civic in excellent condition. I got a ding/dent near the rear close to the rear door..its somewhat noticeable and somehwat irritating with the fact its there...should i try to do PDR Paintless dent repair....for around 60 bucks? or should i just leave it?
This is a question only you can answer. Just ask yourself which will bother you the most. Spending $60 or looking at the dint every time you get in your car. Everyone's priority is different

I have a PS3 and some money for a game, there are 2 games that i would like but i only have the price for one.
Race driver is £17.99 on play.com and COD5 is £33.99 on play.com's play trade.
One of my friends has COD5 but none of my friends have Grid.
which would be better to buy?
They both look pretty good but I would get COD5 (more or less because I am a FPS and RPG fan over racing). Now if Race Driver used guns....

where would i take my car if i wanted to install hid headlight kit?
like a regular auto repair shop or what? or is it easy enough to install yourself? im buying the plug and play
your garage is the best spot.
HID conversion is fairly easy to do if you get one that is plug and play and you should have at least a basic knowledge of automotive electrical.

Is there an Iphone app to set up auto answer or go to voice mail?
I am a parent and work night shift. I don't want to turn my Iphone off while I'm sleeping just incase one of the kids call or other important person i.e. boss. Can I set my phone up with a list of contacts that when I turn the app on only those selected will ring and all others will go straight to voice mail? Tired of getting woke up needlessly.
Technically, due to the capabilities of the SDK/Developers' Tools, it cannot override anything that is normal to the iPhone. This means it cannot control the phone app. However, I remember that there is a premium service from AT&T, but I forgot the details. I'm sorry.

We have oil central heating which also heats the hot water.Why is oil level going down when not used?
We have not used the oil for central heating or hot water since August. Why has the level been dropping very slightly (a couple of centimetres on the guage) since then if no oil has been used? Does the weather effect it or any other reason you can think of. I don't think any oil has been stolen, you would think thieves would take more than that and the guage has been slowly dropping.
Well a few things come to mind . Is the tank underground ? If so there may be a leak at the bottom of the tank . If the tank is above ground and no leak is evident then you may have lost fuel through evaporation .The fuel guage measures volume , fuel volume expands and contracts with changes in temperature .

Does anyone know where i can buy a laudry spot cleaner ?
Called Clear Magic? I used to buy it in Walmart the sold it in the automotive section ,I guess because it could be used for cleaning other things too. It's biodegradeable and smells nice and takes out any stain even ones that are set in.

What is the best HID or Xenon Headlights for a Nissan Altima 2005, and how much would it cost?
Sorry not HID and Xennon describe the same high voltage transformer and blue white light bulbs. The car is specially wired and plugs in the wiring harness for the head light bucket that also has a shutter that opens and closed for high and low beam Because after market kits are out there people beleave lets just install the kit that give only low beam. Another kit is needed for high beam. And from what i have seen regular lighting works just fine as long as the lens stay clear.

Can anyone familiar with cars please help? I want to purchase a code reader for a 1999 BMW 316i Compact?
I have a BMW 316i Compact Sport 1.9L and I wish to purchase a code reader as all mechanics keep charging me £40 per hour even though it takes them 10 mins.

In 1999 cars did not have to be OBD2 compliant so this is unlikely to work on your car.
OBD2 mandatory compliance came in in 2002 in Europe for petrol cars.
