How come when I post two poems simultaneously...?
The one I like never gets any attention and the one I just banged out in 30 seconds is loved? Please someone help me understand ths, as its a serious question.
Am I putting too much thought into poems? Should I just let the pen do all the work? I dunno
the one you wrote in 30 seconds is more loved because you were inspired. it just came to you, it's what you feel, it's real. if you don't think about what you're saying, the people reading it will know what you're feeling and connect to you.
if you have to think about your poetry, it's not what you really want to be writing about, but you really like it because it took you time and it took an effort to come up with it.
follow your ideas, follow the pen, and let it flow.

Would more people accept the notion if global warming if.........?
the buzz words were only "climate change." It seems to me that the naysayers of global warming always refer to a personal situation in which they have experienced a record cold snap to support their dismissive beliefs.
Campbellp: I can't imagine the people in China aren't noticing it right now.
I think "climate instability" would really be more appropriate. Unfortunately, most of the "deniers" will never understand the seriousness of the problem. Even Bush said AGW is real in his State of the Union speech last night.

What is the best four post car lift/ramp to get?
That's not too expensive.
Something like a Bradbury 40 lift can be bought fully reconditioned for about £2500 (3 ton capacity). They do the job but 4 posters are very awkward things to work around.
I'm assuming you've got your reasons for wanting a four poster but I prefer 2 post lifts as they leave the wheels free and allow more access to the underside of the vehicle.
Something like a GEG240 4 ton lift (single phase operation) can be bought new for <£2000.

I'm looking for some really great arrangments of some American patriotic music.?
I want arrangements of pieces that stay true to the spirit of the tunes, yet do something interesting with them. Not too much tampering, just dressing them up a bit. American Salute would be on the more liberal side of what I'm looking for.

How about Charles Ives' Variations on America (My Country Tis of Thee)? He originally composed this for organ (1st link). Fellow American composer William Schuman arranged it for full orchestra and it also exists in various arrangements for wind band (2nd link).
There is also the third movement from Ives' Fourth Symphony(3rd link), which is a fugue built on the hymn 'From Greenland's Icy Mountains' and 'All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name'. Just before the end, Ives adds a good-humoured touch in the sudden breaking forth of a trombone to sing a phrase from 'Joy to the World'.

What are some cute shoes I could buy at a good price?
My style is a mix of vintage, elegant, and classic preppy. I try to be as trendy as possible without going overboard. For example, if you've ever seen what they wear in Seventeen..but toned down a bit. Haha I hope that made sense.
I love the color pink, and earthy tones too. Browns, oranges, etc. but I still love wearing bright colors. I hate looking like everyone else.
So I've been trying to find a decent pair of shoes for ages. I've been to Payless, H&M, Macy's, and Sears, but I haven't found anything. I refuse to buy any shoes at AE, Hollister, or Abercrombie.
So where should I buy a cute pair of shoes that are unique, but not too funky-looking and expensive (over $40).

But, to give you some good ideas, DON'T GO TO JUINORS the clothes are nothing but TRASH. They all look the same
Try going for the Young Adult stores, like maybe Gap or Bananna Republic, Old Navy.
Another tip, don't be fooled by the prices of designer clothes. Go to the designer part of Macy's(you should have one) and there are a LOT of trendy clothes, that are usually expensive and you can find cheaper.

Glowing lifesavers and Masking tape - why does it happen?
When we were kids, we would take Wint-O-Green Lifesavers (at least I think it was Wint-O-Green... may have been Spearmint or Peppermint) and go into a dark room. When we would bite down, with our mouths open, we could clearly see sparks and flashes as the candy broke up. And the same thing with masking tape. We'd take it into the dark room, and pull a strip of tape off of the roll, quickly and firmly, and we'd see a bright glow along the interface where the tape pulled-away from the surface of the roll.
What causes this?

Hi zeebya, I happen to know the phenomena you speak about. The light from the Life Savers is called triboluminescence. Basically, the crystalline structure in methyl salicylate (wintergreen oil flavour) flouresces when struck by ultraviolet light; the UV is in turn emitted by sugar crystals under the stress of the crushing force of your jaw.
I saw an article , at least 20 years ago, in Scientific American about triboluminescence. They also disussed the Scotch tape effect. I remember being intrigued by the fact the tape gets much thinner at the point where it's being pulled off -- it's under immense tension.

If the home anywhere has electricity, it has an earth ground somewhere.
You confusing English words in describing your question. An earth neutral could be used, but the risk of electrical shock is much higher.
This is not to be confused with an earth ground. This is a wire from the system that is physically connected in some way to a rod and this rod is driven into the dirt.
