What is the difference with EOBD and OBD?
European Onboard Diagnostics(EOBD) and Onboard Diagnostics(OBD)
OBD relates to all on board diagnostics by any manufacturer,before year 2000 vehicle manufacturers used their own protocols for diagnostics,meaning that every make of vehicle could use differing ways of communicating with diagnostics eqpt,resulting in lots of different software and leads.
EOBD is an (almost) all encompassing set of protocols which means all cars from 2000 on(and around 2003 for diesels)use the same 16 pin diagnostics socket and basically the same way of communicating with diagnostic eqpt.
Basically EOBD makes life a fair bit easier for those involved with diagnostics.

My 2000 Cadillac Deville hit a curb pretty hard and the tire is pushed back?
I replaced the CV Axle which is helping it drive now but the whole tire and rim is pushed back near the fender. I took it to a shop and they said that once they install the inner and outer tie rods then they could put the tire back in place. I thought that the tie rods were only to turn the tire left and right? Do you think these guys are trying to pull a quick one or are they being honest? I desperately need some help, thanks!
It would be more than tie rods if the wheel is visibly pushed back.Something is bent.

where would i take my car if i wanted to install hid headlight kit?
like a regular auto repair shop or what? or is it easy enough to install yourself? im buying the plug and play
your garage is the best spot.
HID conversion is fairly easy to do if you get one that is plug and play and you should have at least a basic knowledge of automotive electrical.

90 sc auto drop in 4.2 block?
i have a 90 sc auto. stock but all new parts minus the block. i got it running and then i lost a ring #2 piston. now hears my idea: buy low mileage 4.2L from lkq $275 "u-pull it" put my new heads, intake, brackets, m90, and sensors "stock ecc and efi". i know there will be harmonic balancer issues. and i have a hypertech chip. what am i missing? will the heads and intake fit? i plan on keeping the 4.2 block internals all stock and keeping the 4.2 fly wheel. will it mount to my trans?

It should, the 4.2L is just stroked 3.8L, BUT I would be very careful with the boost. The S/C 3.8L had different low compression heads, I want to say 8.8:1 compression. The 4.2L out of an F-150 will have higher compression and heads/head gaskets not suited for forced induction. I don't know if the 3.8L SC heads will swap onto the 4.2L, I would think they would though. I would not keep the stock 4.2L internals, a forged crank and rods are a must IMHO.

Does anyone know where i can buy a laudry spot cleaner ?
Called Clear Magic? I used to buy it in Walmart the sold it in the automotive section ,I guess because it could be used for cleaning other things too. It's biodegradeable and smells nice and takes out any stain even ones that are set in.

Can anyone familiar with cars please help? I want to purchase a code reader for a 1999 BMW 316i Compact?
I have a BMW 316i Compact Sport 1.9L and I wish to purchase a code reader as all mechanics keep charging me £40 per hour even though it takes them 10 mins.

In 1999 cars did not have to be OBD2 compliant so this is unlikely to work on your car.
OBD2 mandatory compliance came in in 2002 in Europe for petrol cars.

What does fuel injection service do for your car and how do you know if you need it done?
I would like to know why I would need fuel injection service on my car.
I have been repairing cars for about 25 years. For the last 14 years I have ran my own 3 bay shop. In all that time I have only serviced fuel injectors 4 or 5 times. I operate in a smaller community where I know most people in the area. I want to make sure all those people are treated fair and honest. In my opinion it is a waste of money on a properly maintained vehicle that burns good quality fuel. Rarely do fuel injectors cause problems. It is usually something else that causes rough running. Regular tune up items such as spark plugs, ignition wires, fuel and air filters. Dont use aftermarket air filters that use oil as a dust collector on them on a vehicle that has mass air flow sensor. They coat the small components inside with oil and dust sticks to them causing improper fuel mixtures.

It doesn't have to be the best school. Just a class at some institute or county college. And about how long would one have to attend?
You can attend a vocational school for about $1000.00 for their course. It would take 1 to 2 years. Depends on your area requirements.

I just ran a diagnostic on my car but i need some help in non/mechanic terms lol?
Okay my service engine light came on in my neon so i did the diagnostic to get the codes. The codes I got were 12, 21, and 17. This is what it said under the code book:
12 Direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles
21 02s sensor problem (oxygen sensor), upstream or down stream
17 Closed loop temp not reached or engine cold too long
What does this mean?
The first one generally means the battery was disconnected recently. the second one means that one of your O2's gave a false reading. Most likely due to the third code. Upstream is before the cat. and downstream is after the cat. The third code means your car took to long to warm up. (check thermostat stuck open)

What is the correct oil pressure on a 1996 Volkswagen Cabrio? because I am going to test it with a oil Pressure gauge and I need to know what its suppose to be. Thanks
around 50psi is average. make sure to check it cold, hot, idle, revved up, etc.
