How do you install 2 hard drives using Serial ATA. Can they be set to Masterslave? What's the best way?
I tried to install a 2nd serial ata drive and everything went well until I rebooted. I got nothing but a black screen with a flashing cursor. I had to disconnect it. I don't see a way to set up master/slave with these kind of drives and I don't want to damage my PC in the process of doing this. Any suggestions?
There is no Master or Slave concept that I know of in SATA. You hook up one device per port. You might want your boot drive in the lowest port number (port 0 on some motherboards; port 1 on others), but other than that, you shouldn't have a problem.
What happens if you only have the new SATA drive connected? It won't boot if there's no OS on it of course, but does it get to the point of complaining it didn't find an OS?
Do you need to go into the BIOS to enable more SATA ports?
Is there an operating system on the 2nd (new) disk? If there is/was, you might want to download Darik's Boot and Nuke from http://www.dban.org/ . Disconnect your current boot drive before using DBAN. If you don't, it will be erased as well. REPEAT: Disconnect your current boot drive before using DBAN.
Other things that come to mind. Is your motherboard SATA 3.0 Gb (a.k.a. SATA II) compatible or only SATA 1.5? If it only supports 1.5 Gb, is the 1.5 Gb limiting jumper installed on the new SATA drive. (It's the only jumper I've used with SATA drives.)
Failing any of the above, if this is really a new disk - as in you just took it out of the box - you may have gotten a bad one.

Air, One of Nature's Four Basic Elements
I was inspired to write this article because of a picture I took of a butterfly taken on my land in one of my gardens. I noticed a beautiful blue light trailing the butterfly, was intrigued, and asked a well known author on spiritual matters for her opinion. I was told the blue light was the energy of Dom, the elemental Master of the air spirits. I consider myself a spiritual person but really knew nothing about air spirits so I did a little research and found it to be quite interesting.
Air is one of the four basic elements of nature (Fire, Earth and Water are the other three). Within each of the four elements are nature spirits that are the spiritual essence of that element. Ancient myths and theories say that these four elements were sent to the earth to bring about order, linking humankind to nature.
Elemental spirits exist in the ethereal world which runs parallel to our own. They are living entities oftentimes resembling humans in shape. They are made up of etheric substance that is unique and specific to their particular element. They live, propagate off spring, eat, talk, and sleep. They can be seen or felt intuitively or seen through the lens of a camera.
The elementals serving on planet Earth materialize whatever they pick up from the thoughts and feelings of mankind. They help us as much as they can by removing toxins and impurities from the air, the sea and the land.
Elemental spirits cannot be destroyed by frosser material elements such as fire, air, earth, and water because they are etheric in nature. However, they are not immortal. They live a very long time, 300 to 1,000 years (never seeming to get old), and when their work is finished they are absorbed back into the ocean of spirit.
The nature spirits of Air are called sylphs (Earth is gnomes, Fire is salamanders and Water is undines). The sylphs find disturbances in the air currents and quickly work to restore harmony. Their activities are manifest in the gathering of clouds, in the blowing of the wind, the downpour of rain and the formation of snow. They are also responsible for the growth and maturity of all plant life.
The sylphs are sources of light that produce inspiration and feed the mind. They are drawn to those who use their minds, particularly those on creative arts. It is generally thought that they are attracted to poets and artists and instills them with visions of spiritual beauty. They can help us with our spiritual and mystical development. Sylphs startle us into seeing and thinking in new and exciting ways.
The Sylphs frequently assume the appearance of humans but only for short periods of time. They have the power to change their size and appearance (from as large as a human to being much smaller) almost at will; however, they cannot change elements.

my fish is taking air from the surface?
my new african butterfly fish that i just got yesterday is taking air from the surface and then spitting out a bubble. the ph is optimum and the nitrates are below thirty ppm and there are no traces of nitrites or nitrates. it looks like he is attacking food but he will swim a few inches then attack the surface and repeat. any ideas whats wrong
there big bubbles that pop a few seconds after he burps it up
no meds all my fish are healthy i did put some aquarium salt in last night when i put him in to help relieve his stress he just started doing it today though
Initial thoughts:
- Fish may still be stressed from the move from wherever you got it
Other ideas:
- Is the water temperature correct for the fish (72-82dF)?
- Tank correct size for the fish?
- Did you get it from a reputable dealer? Watch the fish for signs of other signs of illness/disease over the next 14 days.
- Do you have a filter running and an air stone in the tank? Your fish may not have enough oxygen in the water. (1 air stone per 15 gallons is a good rule of thumb for most tanks/fish.)
- Did you condition the water (dechlorinate, etc?) before adding the fish?
- Is it a new tank? How long did you let the tank cycle before adding the fish? If the answer is less then 5 days, water test every day for the next week or so. Those fish don't always do well with nitrate spikes from cycling.
