it can be a little off center,,as a matter of fact some of the Chevy's are a little off center,,and also the jeeps run off center,,there is a 10 degree tolerance in it,,you have some room to play with it,,if your changing something around on it,,in inch's you got 2-3 inches side to side,,but that's it,,any more and its going to eat joints up ,,good luck with it,,i own a repair shop,,and i do some weird stuff that has staggered drive shaft in them,,i hope this help,s.
