White Bedroom Furniture - How to Paint Shabby Chic White Bedroom Furniture
Elegance and beauty start with white. The reason why Shabby Chic decorators choose to paint and decorate with all white and antique white furniture, is because it absolutely goes with everything!! Even if you have small children you can still enjoy the beauty of white. Yes you might need to keep up on your dusting, but your home will remain cheerful, cozy and well worth it. White bed room furniture is very versatile. The other wonderful thing about white bedroom furniture is that you can paint your walls any color.
White does have options....you can either choose a matte finish for your white furniture, a semi-gloss finish or high gloss finish. You can even choose Antique White to paint your furniture. Antique white is a bit of an off white. It mixes very well with other pure white furniture that is in your home. If you have any bleeding through of old oils in your furniture that you sand and refinish, you can use a white primer called Killz....it works wonders while covering any previous paint and wood stains that were on your furniture. You will absolutely love it!
If you choose to decorate your bedroom in shabby chic white furniture, you usually want to use the antique white. To really make your white bed room furniture look stunning you can add Victorian glass knobs that can be found at any hardware store. Many of the shabby chic white bedroom furniture pieces have glass knobs. The glass knobs really stand out beautifully with the antique white furniture as well as with the pure white shabby chic furniture. I just love the glass knobs. The glass knobs add such a feminine look! I have also painted the original knobs of furniture white and sanded them a bit after painting them. It also looks very elegant and fabulous.
You cannot go wrong with white bedroom furniture!
Another option with white furniture is "distressing it". The way to have the distressed and comfortably warn look in your furniture is when you are done painting it, you take a piece of sand paper and lightly sand the edges and all the corners. It gives the furniture a worn antique look. This look is also called "shabby chic". It is very popular and the style in itself is very welcoming and comfortable.
White furniture is great because you can blend every piece of miss matched furniture in your home all with one can of paint! Your home can look like a model home with just a little effort and enthusiasm. So get busy, have fun and let the magic of cozy, homey, elegant and fairytale white begin.

How to stop 1999 Celica Doors from rusting?
On my 99, I looked on the bottom of the doors and rust in forming there. One side of the car already is starting to bubble on the outside of the paint, right on the corner of the door where it meets the back part of the car. After it rains, it seems like water is always trapped in the doors because if I roll up and down the window the next day, the window is wet. Are these bad gaskets for the doors/windows, causing water to be trapped, or is there drain holes at the bottom of the door that could be clogged? Any help is appreciated, I need this FIXED. I've looked at a few other same gen Celicas at school and I've seen a couple others with rust in the same spot as mine.
Clean out the drain holes in the bottom of the door and get a product called POR-15 online or some hardware stores carry it. It's a rust-converter type of paint that will stop the rust process as long as you coat the entire rusted area so no air can get to it..then use touch-up paint on any areas that are visible on the outside.Try to clean the rusted areas down to bare metal first and follow the directions with the product.
Good luck, Paul

ST is the world's largest supplier of set-top box chips, STB7100 the advent of the manufacturer to activate the market introduction of products possible.
A high degree of integration of new products, in a single-chip integrates all the STB functions and multi-standard decoding circuitry. Combined with ST's advanced 90nm manufacturing technology of the new device is rated as the most cost-effective solution for minimizing the cost of the manufacturer's design and manufacturing.
To MPEG-4 Part 10, known for VC1 - Microsoft's Windows Media 9 Series codecs and H.264/AVC (Advanced Video Coding) standard is fully extended super-high-performance video technology, able to less than the current solution The data rate produced more high-quality MP5 Player video images, these standards apply to high-definition TV and DVD, as well as third-generation mobile phones and other video applications. Broadcasting service using H.264 standard bandwidth than the current widely used MPEG-2 encoding standard, and the data rate is also far lower than the current standard transfer rate, therefore, adopt the new standard manufacturers to low cost deliver more high-definition television programs. In addition, the data compression efficiency also increased by 50%.
STB7100 can simultaneously decode multiple HD video streams, and to the synthesis of video stream output to two TV sets, or in the form of picture in picture display on the screen. High-performance 300MHz ST40 is a new device CPU core, it belongs to ST's 32-bit RISC family, using SuperH ™ architecture, is widely used in digital consumer applications. STB7100 supports all of the current STB operating systems and middleware, and has spare capacity to support future software upgrades.
The new product is an innovative video decoding hardware and software integration architecture, the entire system can be field upgraded to support future new standards. For the digital video recorder (DVR) applications, new devices built-in a variety of peripheral interfaces, including serial, ATA and USB 2.0 and so on, therefore, the manufacturer or the user you want to add new features, to the set-top box or DVD video player is very easy to increase peripheral . Because it can stagger the time watching TV, and now MP5 Players viewers using digital video with increasing frequency, through the USB interface can be digital cameras, printers and memory cards connected to the set-top boxes.

Valve Spring
Valve Spring

Toyota Modified Valve Body
As many Toyota and Jeep owners know, the AW4 / Toyota 340,
A340, and A341E series of transmissions are generally very
well made and demonstrate excellent durability in unmodified
applications. The framework is present for an extremely
strong transmission that is to be used in a high performance
or extreme duty application.
The problem is that the original calibration is engineered
for driver comfort rather than ultimate component strength.
The soft, sliding shifts that are part of the original
design are not appropriate for increased horsepower
applications, towing, off road use, racing, etc.
These calibration inadequacies quickly manifest themselves
as extremely poor shift quality, and more often than not,
severe damage to the gearbox is soon to follow. One of the
most common symptoms of this is the engine stuttering or
hitting the rev limiter during a full throttle upshift.
Without going into too much technical detail, the factory
shortcomings can be addressed through modification and
recalibration of the control valve assembly, a.k.a. the
valve body.
The valve body is a component that is comprised of valves,
solenoids, an orifice separator plate and an intricate
series of passages- it is the most complex component in the
most complex part of your vehicle- the automatic
transmission.
The function of the valve body is to act as the "brain" of
the automatic transmission- it directs hydraulic pressure to
the appropriate clutches and bands at the right time to
initiate upshifts, down shifts, selection of reverse,
converter clutch application, etc. As well as controlling
shift timing and shift quality, it is also responsible for
directing hydraulic pressure to the cooler and the
lubrication circuit.
As you can imagine, the transmission's operational
characteristics can be drastically altered and also
customized to the given application through modifications to
this component.
Because there are no commercially available shift kits for
these transmissions, we began working on valve body
modifications that were appropriate for Supras, Jeeps with
the AW4 transmission, Toyota Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner, and
also Lexus SUV's and rear drive passenger cars- especially
those that needed to handle the additional power that
accompanies the installation of a supercharger, turbo or
nitrous oxide injection.
At the risk of oversimplification, there are a few things
that are done in concert to create much more favorable
operation of the gearbox.
The first thing that needs to be done is to increase the
hydraulic operating pressure of the transmission- this
pressure is known as "line pressure". All hydraulic
functions of the transmission are based on this pressure-
what is especially of concern for these purposes is the
clamping force which is applied to the clutches and bands to
get them to hold against engine torque.
In simple terms, increased engine output is complemented by
increased line pressure and increased "clamp" on the
clutches- this can be likened to a performance clutch with a
heavier pressure plate spring in a manual transmission
equipped vehicle.
The idea is to raise this pressure only slightly at light
throttle but increase it by 30-40% at full throttle- where
it is really needed. The effects of this are shifts that are
not overly uncomfortable at lower throttle openings, while
at heavier throttle, firm shifts with much shorter clutch
application time and increased clamping force can be
achieved.
An additional benefit of this is increased flow through the
transmission's cooler and lube system.
Secondly, hydraulic pressure is normally routed through an
orifice in a metal "separator plate" that resides between
the two halves of the valve body before it gets to its
intended destination. By altering these orifices, we can
increase the volume of hydraulic oil that is used to apply
the various clutches and bands.
The final part of modification is the alteration of the
accumulator circuits. These are hydraulic circuits that are
parallel to the components that are used for shifting. Their
function is to absorb or "accumulate" some of the hydraulic
pressure that is intended to apply a clutch pack or band. By
limiting the action of what is essentially a "shock
absorber" for each shift, we are able to further reduce
clutch lock up time and shift lag at wide open throttle.
The end result is that shift time is reduced by 30 to 80%,
depending on the amount of acceptable shift feel and the
intended application. The clamping force that is required to
apply the clutches and bands is increased by 30 to 40% at
full throttle. Flow through the cooler and lube circuit is
increased and the converter clutch application time is also
reduced.
Transmission and valve body upgrades are not only for
American made vehicles anymore. Increased performance and
more efficient shifting is now available for vehicles of
almost every manufacturer thanks to the few companies that
are willing to do the research and development work required
for this rapidly growing segment of the automotive
aftermarket.

BMW 325 Engine Removal
Information from:http://www.know-car.com/index.php/bmw-325-engine-removal
The BMW 325 inline six-cylinder engine is a compact, efficient and performance-oriented powerplant. For different reasons, perhaps related to maintenance, tuning or a major rebuild, the best option to work on the engine is to pull it out of the car. Pulling an engine is no easy task, but it's not something reserved only for major auto repair facilities. The one item needed to pull an engine not everyone will have in the family garage is an engine hoist. Hoists are available, however, from most industrial rental businesses.
Remove the Hood
- Don't even think of removing the BMW 325's engine with the hood in the way. Removing the hood just means taking out the fastener securing it to the hinges and lifting it off. It's a good idea, however, to have some help not only to remove the heavy body panel but to hold it when removing the final fasteners.
Disconnect Hoses and Wires
- Next you want to disconnect all the hoses, wires, cables and other components leading to and from the engine. Be sure to clamp the fuel line before disconnecting it. Drain the oil, coolant, power brake and steering fluid. The battery cables and air conditioning tubing will also have to be disconnected. The various wiring trunks for engine management and control switching need to come off. Also, disconnect the throttle linkage and the drive shaft under the car.
Disconnect Engine Mounts
- The 325's engine is mounted on four points at each corner. The engine mounts are large rubber bushings and bolts retaining brackets connected to the engine. Before removing the engine mounts, roll the engine hoist into place and secure the engine with the hoist's chain and hook. One the engine mounts are disconnected, the engine is free to move inside the bay.
Remove the Engine
- The engine does not come straight up out of the engine bay. The transmission case is connected to the bottom of the engine and needs to also come out. Lift the front of the engine first so it is tilted up and the move the engine hoist forward very slowly. Work the engine forward and up over the radiator. Once the transmission is free to move inside the engine bay, you can finish lifting the

supporting a 3.1 liter engine without the hoist the manufacturer tells you to buy while changing heads?
I am changing heads in a 95 buick skylark and the book says I need to support the engine with a hoist type lift and adapter. Is there another way to support this from the bottom without hurting the oil pan or something else.I loosened the dog bone and the motor does fall down and needs support. This has put the project at a standstill for the moment. Thanks
You can use a hydraulic floor jack with a block of wood. Place the block of wood on the saddle of the jack and under the crankshaft pulley.
Use caution when doing this. You're not trying to jack the engine through the hood, you're merely using the jack to support the weight of the engine.

Tips For Protecting Your Hardwood Floor
Most people life to have plush carpet in their homes, because it's generally easier to deal with than hardwood floors. But hardwood floors have a beauty all their own and if taken care of properly, will last a long time.
There are two types of wood - hardwood and softwood. Hardwoods come from deciduous trees, whereas softwood trees come from conifer trees. However, nothing is simple, and some hardwoods are softer than softwoods! Balsa is considered to be a soft hardwood , while yew is a hard softwood.
When it comes to your flooring, you'll want to use hardwoods such as red oak, hard maple, silver maple, beech, white oak and American cherry. Many companies also offer "exotic" woods such Brazilian cherry, hickory, oak or teak, purpleheart, mahogany, or Tamarindo.
Hardwood flooring is described in terms of their "tones,"grains", and "hardness". Each type of wood has its own shades of colors and tones, types of grains, and degree of hardness to match any kind of decor you'd like in your home, more here: http://www.home-decorating-reviews.com/flooring/flooring.html
The main reason to put hardwood flooring in your home is because bare wood, properly cared for, is quite beautiful. However, depending on the climate where you live, hardwood floors might not be the best idea. Wood floors can be cold to the touch during wintertime, and if something heavy gets dropped on the floor, gouges can occur, no matter how hard the wood is! However, if you take the appropriate care these beautiful floors will last for a long time. (And indeed...if a carpet gets stained, the whole carpet generally needs to be taken up. Whereas, if a plank of wood is gouged, it's relatively easy to take up that plank and replace it with a pristine one.
By following a few simple tips, you'll be able to enjoy your hardwood floors for a lifetime.
Door mats
Place mats or rugs in front of doors, and make sure your visitors wipe their shoes off, or even better, takes their shoes off and walks around in socks. Dirt can be ground into the floor and ruin the finish.
Furniture
Never drag furniture over a hardwood floor. Lift the furniture - carry it to the spot you want it placed, and set it down. If the furniture is heavy - place felt contacts under the legs so that the furniture can be moved easily, but with no danger of scratching the wood.
Spills
Even if wood is treated to repel water, its always a good idea to wipe up spills immediately. Water can seep between the planks and cause damage.
The sun
Just as the sun can fade the upholstery on your furniture, it can fade your wood floors. So always keep your drapes drawn, or have the types of windows that can block out UV rays.
Cleaning
Don't use oil soaps. They build up and yellow the floor. Use neutral pH cleaners made specifically for wood floors.
Humidity
Your wooden floors expand and contract with the hear, and the amount of moisture in the air. It's a natural cycle, so don't worry if you suddenly see small gaps between floorboards. A room with a properly controlled temperature and humidity can prevent this from happening altogether, however.
By utilizing these simple tips, you'll protect your hardwood floors and keep them safe.

How do I lift linoleum off a concrete floor?
I have a room in my basement with linoleum over concrete floor. The linoleum is really badly damaged and I'd like to remove it. What is required to do this? Are there specific tools I'll need? Are there solvents needed?
Depending on the adhesive and how long it's been there, you can probably get the lino up with a flat shovel (snow shovels work!) and some elbow grease. You may find it easier to get up the tough bits if you heat the lino with a hair dryer to soften the adhesive.
You can also rent a special scraper for this from most rental houses, but they really don't work that much better than a flat shovel.
Try to avoid solvents, especially in a confined space like a basement, since they're bad for your lungs and usually are very flammable (gas water heater with a pilot light down there?!).
Try not to chip the concrete unless you're planning to level it with visquine or the like afterwards. If you're putting carpet or something thick back down on the concrete, you don't have to worry about getting every bit of adhesive off to make the floor even, since the carpet pad will deal with it. If you're putting vinyl sheet or tiles down, take the time to make the floor absolutely smooth or you'll get bumps in your new floor.
Good luck!
Good luck.

Ear Tinnitus - How To Stop Ringing Ears Once And For All
Are you suffering from ringing in the ears? Many folks struggle trying to figure out how to stop ringing ears. Ringing in the ears can disrupt your day to day life, interfer with sleep, affect your hearing, and it can make it hard to work.
Tinnitus affects everyone differently. Sometimes ringing happens in only one ear, although it is more common in both ears. For some sufferers ear ringing is temporary, the ringing happens for a few days, and then it will stop as suddenly as it started. However, Tinnitus can last for a very long time especially if the microscopic ending of the hearing nerve in the inner ear has been damaged.
To prevent damage to the ear avoid loud music or noise. Also, ringing in the ear can be caused by allergies, high blood pressure, ear infection, diabetes, some prescription drugs, and other things. Once you are able to determine the cause of your ear ringing you can try a few things to cope with or eliminate it.
If medication is the cause talk to your doctor about changing doses or medication. Your health or diet can affect your hearing. Too much salt in your diet can impair circulation of blood in the head and neck. Stimulants like coffee, tea, and cola can irritate hearing cells. High blood pressure can cause ringing in the ears.
How to stop ringing ears varies, some people find taking 2 standardized Ginkgo extract tablets 3 times a day with meals to be effective after a few weeks. Some sufferers benefit from using a technique called head drumming; you place your palms over the ears with you fingers on the back of your head then place the index fingers over the middle fingers, and snap them off to tap the back of the skull, this is repeated 30 to 40 times or until ringing stops.
American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery - suggest self-help such as lowering salt intake, getting proper rest and exercise, loosing weight to lower blood pressure, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques as ways to stop or cope with the ringing. There is no single remedy for how to stop ringing ears, but there are many things one can try until they find what works for them. Always consult with a professional if you are suffering too long or too much.

I have recently been given a ring. The ring is made of very thin gold and some diamonds. I'm very worried that i will either lose a diamond or the gold will break and snap off as it is very thin. My friend suggested coating the back of the ring with a layer of super glue, will this work and are there any other suggestions?
Would appreciate any help! this ring is very important to me and its starting to look strange that i'm not wearing it! lol
Thanks a lot!
Take it to a jeweler and have them put a thicker shank on it. Should cost perhaps $100, depending on the size of the ring. Glue will not work it will simply gum up your ring and come off on your hand.

Universal Garage Door Remote, Thankfully Easy to Replace
The kids come running in and tell you once again that the garage door remote is lost. What do you do? Replace it of course. There are many popular replacement units available. Since all garage door openers work in a similar way, they can be programmed to work with a variety of garage doors.
As a rule of thumb, the universal garage door remote will work with the majority of the most popular brands of garage doors. There may also be times when a universal remote will not work with a particular brand of garage openers. The only option left to the homeowner at this point is to get another remote from the garage opener manufacturer.
There are two methods to program a universal garage door remote. The first method uses the switches inside the remote that will connect the remote with your particular brand of opener. The second type is programmed using a key pad on the motor housing.
Several brands of garage door remotes come with a variety of options, with one to three buttons that are used to control several doors or doors with an automatic gate system. The remote is powered by batteries and they are relatively inexpensive at around $20 USD.
Busy homes have a reputation of little things like the garage door remote opener getting lost, among other things that mysteriously disappear into the nether reaches of the house. Fortunately, you aren't the only one this happens to. It happens quite often and that is why manufacturers created the universal garage door remote.
Department stores such as Sears carry the universal garage remotes, as well as home improvement stores such as Lowe's. The prices vary by brand and options that are available on the remote. When you find one that works with your particular garage door opener, buy two and keep one in reserve. Nothing can be more frustrating than trying to get to work and the garage door will not open because the remote is lost again.
The garage door opener that is universal is great for those who lose the things that are used on a daily basis. The search for the remote can be maddening, so it is just easier to have spares on hand. Rain, snow and other nasty weather conditions cause you to want that door to open remotely, and the universal remote that you keep in your car no matter how many others want it in their car makes it possible for you to get inside the garage door dry and warm.
Another reason you want a spare remote is a safety concern. If you live in an area that is not well lit or that has a lot of foot traffic at night, the remote allows you to get inside an enclosed area before leaving the safety of your car. This is sometimes a crucial factor in the decisions to keep an extra universal garage door remote on hand. It never hurts to have a spare on hand.

Quartz Infrared Portable Heaters
One thing that is of increasing concern for management amongst workplace management is the environmental impact of their working practices, and the implications for climate change of using heating systems to warm the workplace.
Against this backdrop of increased environmental awareness and greater concern when it comes to wasting energy, areas such as workplace heating are coming under increasing scrutiny, and ore efficiency is being sought at all times. One area in which any management group can meet with the demands on efficiency of greater environmental awareness is by installing quartz infrared portable heaters.
Quartz infrared portable heaters offer the opportunity to bring a scalable and robust heating solution into your workplace that can be applied on either a localized or general basis according to the individual needs. Whether you have a large workplace to heat, and would have previously installed a heating unit over every desk, or have already recognized the importance of flexible heating systems, you will benefit from implementing small individual heaters throughout the building that can be controlled on an individual basis rather than a single integrated system that lacks local control.
By localizing heating control to the point where individual employees can adjust the temperature provided by their quartz infrared portable heaters, it is possible to apply resources only where they are required, and this will lower the overall requirement for heaters across the workplace. Compared to a single joined up and centralized heating system, individual units that are designed to work efficiently on a small scale provides a number of benefits.
Quartz infrared portable heaters are simple enough to be installed in minutes, require only standard electrical supplies to work properly, and provide excellent levels of heat. They are designed to work from the moment they are switched on and offer immediate effects. The basic system of the heaters is similar to a domestic electric fire. A high resistance cable that generates heat is contained within a reflective dish that directs the heat into a particular area.
A number of different alternatives are available that connect to either a 120 volt or 480 volt supply, that generates up to 13,500 watts of heating power, but this is both generated and distributed as efficiently as possible, and the heating effect from the heaters is much more efficient than alternatives in terms of the resources required.
For any business that is concerned with managing their carbon footprint, and using the most efficient internal heating system possible, then quartz infrared portable heaters are probably the best option available currently, and will provide the right results. Both the cost of installation and the cost of use are lower than alternatives, making it a perfect solution for both environmental and cost conscious business managers.
Whether you are looking for heating for a small workshop or a comprehensive bespoke system to ensure that a larger stock house heating system using quartz infrared portable heaters, you will find all the components and advice that you need online.
Whether you need to install air flow machinery and industrial fans through the workplace to improve staff comfort or to ensure that solvent fumes are properly vented from the premises, the range of different industrial blowers and fans available means that any business can be sure of getting exactly the right equipment to get the proper balance of fresh air and comfortable temperatures that makes the workplace more comfortable.

What does this diagnostic code mean?
Check engine light in our 1999 Chev Suburban will come on and our diagnostic analyzer indicates the code po440. Any ideas on how to take care of this?
Technical Description
Evaporative Emission Control
System Malfunction
What does that mean?
This indicates that a part of the EVAP control system is no longer fuctioning correctly. The EVAP system consists of many parts, including (but not limited to) the gas cap, fuel lines, carbon canister, purge valve, and other hoses. The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the engine is running a purge control valve
opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine.
Causes
A code P0440 could mean one or more of the following has happened:
* The gas cap is not installed or working properly
* The purge solenoid has failed
* The canister is plugged and not working properly
Possible Solutions
With a P0440 OBD-II trouble code
, diagnosis can be tricky at times. Here are some things to try:
* Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the code, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back.
* Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses
* Inspect for damaged or disconnected hoses around the Evap purge solenoid
* Check and/or replace the sensor
* Check and/or replace the purge valve
* Have a professional use a smoke machine to detect leaks

Scan Tool Plus Emission Testing in One Package
The Ready-or-Not (RoN) is a combination scan tool and test tool. As a fully functional PC-based scan tool, RoN is able to read/clear trouble codes and display sensor data identical to the popular ElmScan 5 series of scan tools. As a test tool, RoN works independent of a PC to quickly determine if a vehicle’s monitors are set and ready for emissions testing.
All OBDII compliant vehicles have what are known as “monitors”. Monitors are a series of tests the engine ECU performs to determine whether different emissions related systems are working properly. Clearing trouble codes (after a repair, for example) resets these monitors and it may take considerable driving time for each monitor to set again. Most states will not allow a vehicle to be tested for emissions until the majority of these tests have been completed by the engine ECU.
Simply connect RoN to your vehicle and it will instantly display which monitors are set and whether or not your vehicle is ready for emissions testing. RoN features both visual and audio confirmations that alert the driver the instant the vehicle is ready for emissions testing.
Scan tool and test tool functionality in one device.
Saves time and frustration by indicating when a vehicle is ready for emissions testing.
Buying a used car? Remember that the check engine light can be cleared, masking potential problems. Use RoN to verify that the majority of monitors have been completed by the engine ECU.
The Ready-or-Not works out of the box, however it can also be programmed to adapt to any existing or future state emissions program. The configuration utility supplied with the test tool comes with a large number of presets, covering all current state emissions programs
