Data Loggers Becoming More And More Sophisticated
Data loggers record data using electronic devices. Using sensors that identify and then translate signals into digital format, data loggers have become a common sight in everything from hospital emergency wards to medical research labs. In the last 5 years the abilities and battery life of data recorders have extended greatly, resulting in an even more active role in today's healthcare facilities.
Most data loggers are on the small side, with a microprocessor to organize information, an internal memory to store collected data, and external sensors to gather and translate information. Often quite small they usually rely on battery power and the upgrades in batteries have created a lot more leeway on the part of designers when they develop new recording devices. A battery that used to take up 3 cubic inches can now be replaced by a version half its size or smaller. In addition, rechargeable batteries are engineered into the unit so that it can simply be plugged in to recharge, avoiding the task of changing batteries altogether. This makes a data logger even more cost effective as well easier to maintain.
Data loggers sometimes process information gathered completely on their own and sometimes interface with another device depending upon how they are designed. At times several devices can be hooked up to one computer. This allows a doctor to monitor a wide range of information from a patient over a long time period. This ability to gather minute information tirelessly over hours and even days of elapsed time is sometimes considered it's greatest asset. With their ability to gather information without being monitored themselves, they require a decent amount of memory to store data. These days computer chips have become so small that loggers are now able to collect literally months of information with no storage issues while their same sized counterparts of the past were limited to a few days. Floor, In-Floor and Wall Safes: Which Style is Best for You?
Most people purchase a safe to protect personal valuables from fire or theft. Your circumstances, as well as personal preferences, determines your needs in what type of safe you need. There are a lot of safes out there, especially if you take into account all the small and portable safes. But when it comes to the larger home and gun safes, there are three main styles based upon where the safe is placed. Those three styles are floor, in-floor and wall safes.
When I think of wall safes, I think of TV or movies and safecracking. Such as Jennifer Garner in Alias having to steal the priceless Rambaldi artifact from the bad guy's office safe. In movies, the safe seems to usually be hidden behind a picture, like in the Thomas Crown Affair, so that may not be the best way to disguise wall safe since that would be the first place any movie goer would look.
Wall safes are usually smaller than floor safes, are not very difficult to install, and provide convenient storage for important items. Of course, if installed in dry wall, it is not very secure from burglars since they could just remove the entire safe and carry it off to open else where. If you need security and not just fire protection (which you probably want, or why would you conceal your safe in a wall? Just because its cool?) then you need to install the safe with concrete in a concrete, block or brick wall.
Floor safes are the style seen a lot in local sports and general stores. These are safes that, as you can probably guess, are designed to sit on the floor. They are normally quite heavy and are bolted down, usually to the floor but often to a wall also, or two walls if the safe is placed in a corner. Both the weight and the bolts are huge deterrents to burglars. If you are not placing your floor safe on a ground floor, you will want to make sure that the floor can support the weight of the safe. The last thing you want is your safe to break through the floor and fall to the basement or apartment bellow you!
In its own weird way, an in-floor safe is a combination of floor and wall safes. You use the floor instead of the wall, and you place the safe inside of it. These types of safes often do not meet UL construction guidelines to earn a UL fire rating, but still are fairly safe against fire and burglary if installed wisely. The best place to put an in-floor safe is in the corner of your concrete basement floor. The basement because it is the lowest floor in your house. Fire rises, so the safe won't get as hot as quickly as a safe higher up in your house. This gives the extra fire protection desired and compensates for the lack of in-floor safes not meeting UL standards. The concrete is best for the same reasons wall safes are more secure in concrete - harder to carry off. And finally, in the corner because if someone does try to break into your safe, it makes it a lot more uncomfortable for the thief, it is harder to access from all sides and therefore takes longer to break into.
Any of these three styles of safes is great for protecting your valuables, you just have to decide what works best for you. If you are building a home, then it is an opportune time for installing in-floor or wall safes, but these can be installed in any home at any time as long as you meet the manufactures guidelines. So don't be deterred and rule out these options. Check out all options before choosing your safe.

Why does my car stall when braking?
1999 Pontiac Grand Prix. Recently had transmission change. There's been a few problems.
1 - When braking or turning the gas gauge goes down and if the gauge gets low enough the low coolant light comes on. Why?
2 - Its happened a couple times that when shifting from park to reverse or drive to reverse etc the engine revs quite high. Why?
3 - Lastly, sometimes when I brake or turn the lights dim and the car stalls. I am guessing that this could be a bad alternator. Any ideas?

Stress Coat and Stress Zyme?
So i got a Top Finaquarium starter kit 10, it's a 10 gallon tank. I have gotten it all set up and letting sit for 48 hours before getting fish, but the kit also came with a trial offer of Stress Coat and Stress Zyme, do i put that in now? or wait until i get the fish? Also when i do have to clean out 10% of the water, how would i go about doing that? How many fish do you think i can have? would f4 plus an alage eater be to many? And one more question. I'm getting tropical freshwater fish, it says to leave the light on 8-12 hours a day, is it bad if i leave it on plus or minus a few hours? And please feel free to give me anymore advice...i'm pretty new to this. i've only had goldfish in a bowl...from when i was like 6.

You can add it now.(i got the top fin 28 starter kit on saturday) The coat first then the zyme teh Zyme is little bacteria that are good for the fish and aquarium.
Cleaning:
Go to the petstore and ask for a cleaning pump, or gravel vaccum. buy one and every 2-3 weekishes do a partial water change. About a 1.4 will be good and then fill it back up with conditioned water.
Fish:
Four fish and an algae eater will be good. Look at there adult size, the rule is one inch of fish per gallon. You can over crowd a little but you'll have to clean it more often.
Light:
I leave mine on for probably around 12 hours a day. It should be fine just make sure they have a good amount of dark, they are animals and in nature there is nighttime and dark!

If you use a trickle charger to keep your battery charged in the winter?
And it's a manual charger, can you do any damage if you leave it on for like 12 hrs? Mine is a 1amp. Manual means it doesn't shut off when the batt is fully charged I suppose. My battery is now 7yrs old and still ok.
not a good idea to leave it on there, get yourself a battery tender as they shut off when the battery is charged and kick on when it needs a little charge.
